But if he is able to convince the CPP–NPA–NDF in to a ceasefire, then it will be a great start. Look at Colombia. The peace agreement with the FARC has done wonders there.

I do believe that he just wants to fix the mess caused by previous politicians.
I like his visions, but his way of making things right isn't right.
He is regardless on his word but attentive on the plan he wants to do.

What is he so good? The fact that killing people without trial? I haven't heard that the President said that he personally killed people to show police how to do it. I hope soon this bastard will be impeached and he will answer for it.

Philippines will not be 100% free from the drug menace, even if you kill 90% of the population. You should treat the disease, and not the symptoms. Eradicate poverty and lack of medical care, if you want people to stay away from drugs.

To clarify, I think Duterte has some of the worst combinations of personality traits in a leader. He seems intolerant, ignorant, mean and arrogant. He seems like a terrible person to be running a country.

He is unique tho and that what people loves about him(he is intolerant,ignorant mean and arrogant to those people that he don't like eg. Those who betray their country or its people)

On the other hand, I can see why he has popularity in the country - The Philipines has a very serious drug problem, and to the average voter, Duterte's strategy of "Killing all the drug users and vendors in cold blood" seems like a good idea. After all, it's an efficient way of ridding the country of the drug problem, right?

Media, fuck them tho, How pretty sure are you that it was him killing his people? His words was to only kill them if they fight back and FYI those unrecorded extrajudicial killings are clearly came from the drug syndicates them selves as quote "If the person died without the presence of the police why would you blame me? -duterte" and to be clear the average extrajud killing from US and phillippines are not that far.

Pretty much all modern research suggest that severe drug problems are a symptom of societal issues. There will undoubtably be reasons why so many people in the Philipines use and sell meth, for example, the main one being that there aren't many other ways of making good money. The leaders of countries need to start tackling the underlying social issues that cause the symptoms of drug addiction, rather than just trying to kill everyone involved. To a lesser extent, the same could be said of Western countries (UK/US etc) than imprison individuals for drug possession (Yeah, they're not killing them, but they are locking them up for victimless crimes).

They are not dead because they did not fight simple. and other FYI people in the philippines acts far different than people living in the western countries.

His tactics have huge problems, one of the most obvious being that innocent people can be shot in cold blood, then framed as drug users (with no real evidence apart from a hand written sign on their corpse telling people they took drugs... yeah sounds legit  Cheesy). Another problem is that his violent massacre is taking out users as well as dealers.

I don't know if anyone in the current administration has looked into what Switzerland did to reduce heroin addiction. In my own opinion the reasons people get into drugs are peer pressure and lack of ways to resolve personal problems.

It would be really great if we have a better public mental health program. The gov't should also start pumping more money into arts and sports to give the younger ones alternative use for their time.

Duterte is a good tactician, he even announced for all to surrender in his "Oplan Tokhang" and almost all who are users,dependents etc  got surprised and surrenders.Actually if you did not surrender,its nothing also.From surrendered person, they extracted info where they get,who are their sources and they corroborate this intel info in exchange,they will not be charged. A very comprehensive plan and serious about eradicating the drug proliferation problems in the country.
