We can not say that it is totally drug free. Duterte's campaign on drugs is very impressive, it lowers the number of drug addicts, but he can not stop drugs just by killing them, there is another way.

Thousands of people, including the innocent bystanders have been killed so far. And I am surprised by the level of support this measure still have in the Philippines. Why the people are still supporting Duterte despite all the mayhem?

Because tens of thousands were killed, raped and violated through gangs ran by drug barons. Because hundreds of thousands of lives were destroyed through drugs misuse. Phillipinos then gave one man the mandate to fight the cancer with fire.

I think President Duterte can make it but the population will also be wipe out  I think he can do it but many lives will be taken which is as a human we can't say that that's ok i wish he can do it without killing because i think they still deserve to live and change if they are willing to.

Sounds fair enough to me. Anyway, this campaign against the drugs and drug lords have yielded a lot of positive results, as evident from the big reduction in the crime rates. But I still want the cops to reduce the number of civilian deaths, resulting from cross-fire.

I do not think it's worth raising the issue of drug legalization to any country, and all because probably not everyone understands and realizes the problems that addicts and other people lead. It seems to me that in this way we ourselves create big problems for ourselves. With drugs you need to fight at the oral level and officials should do with all this possible.

Not all are like that, and only few are. Actually those that has money are the ones that could hide their work. They could push drugs easily compared to those poor people.

Even if they are pushers, I still of them as a victim not just by drugs. Taking down those small time pushers will never solve this big problem. The only way to crash drugs is to find its source, which I think would take years, since the Philippines is an archipelago, lots of entry point and lots of exit.

On the forum many people from the Philippines. First, they often wrote that I believe in Duterte and he will save their country from drugs. Even said that they are not disturbed by the dictatorial Duterte. Now I look at their cheers subsided. Do not surrender only Russian who fulfill the General line of their policy.

Not entirely. Yes, Philippines' Presidents campaign is against Drugs but it is not possible to eliminate it entirely in the Philippines.
If EJK is the answer to this problem I guess he is willing to wipe out the country. He proposed a campaign like this without thinking where to put addicts.
So eventually killings wont stop.

Philippines wouldn't ever be free from Drugs. Why? Duterte's term would only last for 6 years, Normally this syndicates or cartels will just lay lo and wait until his term is finished. But as of the moment, Duterte's campaign is really working even thought there are cases that involves EJK. Pushers and Users are now turning themselves to avoid getting killed during the campaign and also to help them to recover and to be rehabilitated. But, the sad reality is that some of the addicts also return into their vices after getting out the rehabilitation program. It is true that if we want a change it must start within us. Let's hope for the best for Philippines. I'm just hoping that the next admin will continue this campaign.

Your country will never be drug free.  Don't you guys learn anything from the repeated attempts on prohibiting anything which becomes a failure?  From alcohol to drugs to weapons.  There is not one that has been successful, and past attempts have only made the problem worse.

You're living in an imaginary world where the government sets the law and everyone obeys.  Not a realistic view.

As soon as you prohibit something, the price will skyrocket and a black market will start.  Black market is a result of prohibition.

The question is not whether he will be completely able to eradicate the drugs or not. But here the question is whether he will be able to end the drug menace, which is ruining the Filipino youth. If a few losers remain addicted to drugs, there is no harm in it. But it is a serious issue if a large part of your youth can't live without drugs.

Exactly, I am not being negative here but i am just being a realistic.
I hope government will also find ways to create more jobs for the poor Filipinos.
There are many big people behind in the Drug Activity Industry, and President Duterte thinks that it can be easily solved?NO.
There is money in Drugs, don't expect that it will die down that easy.
The summary of people who died on this activity is either POOR or innocent (the rich can't be killed lol)

You are absolutely right. Drug addiction is not a crime. It is a medical condition. Bans and police action will do little to resolve this issue. If the drugs are not openly available, then the addicts will make drugs on their own. This is what happened in Russia. When the supply of heroin from Afghanistan was disrupted, the addicts started making their own drug (Krokodil) from codeine tablets.

I think any addict to be forced to treat and require once a month to undergo a mandatory test for drug use. If he starts again to use them then they need to be put in jail for conducting an antisocial way of life. After a few years he'll stay clean for sure.

In supporting drugs remaining illegal, it is actually you that is supporting "drug lords" and organized crime.  Making anything illegal creates a black market including drugs.  If drugs weren't illegal, and you could pick them up in a pharmacy the same way you'd purchase advil, there would be minimal opportunity and minimal profitability in being a "drug lord".  In order for "drug lords" to maintain their power and revenue stream, they require the government to prohibit what they sell, otherwise the business model doesn't work.

Why not learn something from the countless failed attempts at prohibition in the past?
