Very crzay what this man does. Killing lots of people who are just addicts is no good... very sad about this development.
In some countries it is believed that a drug addict is a very sick person, but in fact we have not yet fully discovered the essence of a person under the influence of drugs. Who did not encounter such people, he does not know what is not capable. In some cases, they need to be isolated from society.

I also think so. It's easy to talk about addiction when you do not see addicts. But this is a very terrible sight. I do not mind the people who sell drugs. I agree with the policy of the president and support him

I'm still positive that the president just did  a good decision of eliminating those who's involved into drugs just wanted to be more in seeking the dealer and their bosses so no other small time usher can be killed and give some chances to have a better life, those who's been victimized of abuse coming from some big supporters of drugs are the one who seeking for justice.

It would be hard but I think it would be a thing that is worth it because the rich who are involved with illegal drugs are worthy to be in prison. No matter what you are trying to look into there would be someone in the higher up that is dirty and protecting people.

It's impossible for our president to free our country from drugs. Why? He only have a term of 6 years plus cartels and syndicates are not that dumb enough to lay low until his term is done. I do still believe that Duterte will do everything he can to abolish all these syndicates somehow, as of the moment let's enjoy that addicts are now getting off the streets and somehow safe.

[/quote]Something very much people in the Philippines hope for their president. The fact is that they are everywhere almost the same problem to solve is not very much in a hurry. And if the problem is that drug trafficking affects the lives of people, it is still a very difficult issue to solve it very quickly.

It will be really an uphill battle of the President to stop the drugs in the Philippines. There are still a lot of it roaming around and the peddlers and drug addicts are still at it even though Duterte is trying to get rid of it. Even the NBP who is identified to be the top source of drugs can somewhat corrupted some SAF manning the prison. PNP chief Dela Rosa was so disappointed when he learn about this news.

My point is drugs has really corrupted our society and its really difficult and frustrating for the law enforcers to put a break on the drug activity in the country. 6 years is not enough for President Duterte.

Well, no one can stop it, unless the communities are willing to help. Authorities alone is not enough with their ratio to the number of people residing in the Philippines, it is impossible to safe guard all of them.

But what's good about this present administration is that you can feel what they are doing, they are not just talking, but they are doing what they are telling, except for some.

It will not end. The drug should begin not with repression, but with the construction of a developed economy. Of course there are addicts in all countries, but where people earn enough to find entertainment not associated with drugs they are much smaller.

Yeah it will never end, in the first six years of the presidential term, he can do that, but what happen if Mr. President's term ends, and the new president is different, sad to say but it can have a new generation of drug addicts,it can be happen. But im still hoping that Mr. President can stop that .

That is what I'm afraid of. That's why I'm saying that 6 years in not enough for President Duterte to stop the drug menace. And I hope that during his 6 years tenure, he can someone limit the proliferation in Philippines. And the next administration should continue what have he started. Well its still far though, Duterte has been in the office for 1 year and a lot can happen in the next years of his administration.

Drug cartels are not formed overnight (unless two smaller cartels merge to form a bigger one). It takes decades to organize a drug business. So if Duterte exterminates the drug cartels, then the Philippines will remain drug-free for the next few decades.

That is why he is trying hard to really reduce the demand by going with the drug lords in the country. What he can't control is the outside source coming from China and other parts of the world. The Philippines is not the transshipment point of drugs in Asia. Like a said its gonna be difficult for the Administration to really stop but at least minimized the effect of drugs in the society. It can't be totally eradicated because their will be corruption along the police lines.  I'm still hoping for the best once his term has ended.

It doesn't matter how hard he tries, it will never work.  You don't think America already tried getting "tough on drugs"?  Nixon made drugs "public enemy number 1" around 1970.  All that happened during that time is the prisons became full of otherwise innocent people, police became corrupt, and liberties were stripped from the citizens.  You know what didn't happen?  A reduction in drug use.  It just allows more money to go to the mob through organized crime.  It's easier for teenagers to get their hands on it.  So now that it's almost 50 years past that point, Canada will be legalizing cannabis next year, and many of the states in America already have.  Portugal has decriminalized all drugs, which has been a success.  There's something to learn from the countries that have already tried this.  The Philippines is no different.

So anyone who is addicted to a drug deserves to die in the Philippines ? .... wow just wow......

Tobacco is a drug

Paracetamol is a drug

Ibuprofen is a drug

Alcohol is a drug

Ointments are drugs

Many normal everyday legal products that contain chemicals, some of which are derivatives of drugs could be used and you wouldn't be killed.....

Where's all the petrol heads and paint sniffers ? Why not off them too ? After all they just go to the bowser and fill up to sniff off and they get a free pass ?

As many people have mentioned in this thread previously drugs will never be rid of in the world, most of them come from naturally occurring plants which are then combined with other plants or ingredients or extracted to be purified..... gonna rid the world of psychoactive and medicinal plants then ?

I seriously doubt the Philippines could become EDEN.

Are this other responders came from the Philippines? Their replies is a shit. Do you think Duterte alone can solve this alone? FUCK! What matters here is we feel the drug activity are being lessen. Take example in my place, in the past, almost everyday there is a shabu session alongside with other drugs. And after hitting their shit level, they will do @#!@#!. Fuck isn't it? When Duterte sits, all this activity gone and we can now walk freely at night any time without worrying a drug addict will wreck us.

Stop complaining if you are from other country. Where did you get your source? As if you know the real status here!

This is one of the retarded and shittiest comments here which simplifies that this guy doesn't know anything and just do posting. I don't want to respond to an obvious thing. It's like answering 1+1 = 5.

the reality here in the philippines is that if you are rich, you can always have a lawyer to protect you from the accusations. you can go under trials and other things just to make yourself inocent. while if you are poor, you have no right to justify yourself. you will be in the prison that fast. or even if you are rich and get to prison, you will have a special treatment like you are just in a 5 star hotel.

Lol. Maybe before but now are different stories. I bet you remembered to what to the father of kerwin an convicted druglord. As you can see there were no trial for him to justify himself. Public attorney's office right now are doing pretty much good work anyways.

or even if you are rich and get to prison, you will have a special treatment like you are just in a 5 star hotel.  Again, this was on the past administrations. If you know a rich person who's in prison right now that is living like a king inside the prison then you should name it

I think, what is the most powerful is our politicians, we know that some politicians are the one who protected the drug lords. We must push through those who are involve in drugs, we must not protect those who committed crimes, and who are those drug addicts too.
That is the reason why Philippines is one of the most corrupt country in the world, it is a shame but this is the truth. We have a good leader that wanted to have a good nation but what other politicians do is to move him down, I can't really think that there are people who wanted to be rich in the illegal aspect thinking that we are going to die someday and we cannot bring our money after death.

Yes, I agree, we are always the focus of the drug crimes but not focusing on the people who protect the crime, there have been many campaigns about the dangers of drugs but that's not enough, there must be a perfect measures, we will not be able to kill a drug without killing people who protect drug crimes. I read the article about drugs in the Philippines, drug crimes in the Philippines has indeed could not be controlled, if it continues to be left, Philippines will be worse by these circumstances. in this case the intervention of powerful people, they could protect drug crimes. not only in the Philippines, the other countries have the same problems and They also could not kill the drug. so there has to be a bold move by the Government to destroy the drugs.
Drug does not need to fight in such methods. It is a social disease. If unemployment in the country and the people have nothing to earn money they turn to drugs. I think you need to start with combating unemployment.

If you think that unemployment is the cause of the emergence of drug use ,, it seems you are wrong, ..
Drug abuse does not start with unemployment, but starts from trying something new that causes someone addicted ..
It all happens because there is someone who is benefited from the drug, the drug dealer
