Since Zcash launch, prices have been around the $1000+ mark, however after a few days the price has gone down, and I think that it will continue to do so for the following days until it reaches the total supply of 21 million coins. In my own opinion, Zcash has been overvalued, (considering that there have been privacy oriented altcoins before like Monero) and the fact that Zcash does not enforce anonymity by default (unlike Monero), it makes me wonder whenever Zcash would be a good investment or not. If there is one thing that I don't like about Zcash, is the fact that it is behind a company, as well as having a sort of premine called Founder's reward, which seems kind of fishy to me. Please let me know what do you think about this.

Your "opinion" answers the question. No,it wouldn't be worth jack.Like other alt-coins,there would be a pump and dump phase,z-cash is going to get dumped harder.Wait for it to be sold at 1 satoshi. If there is one thing that I don't like about Zcash, is the fact that it is behind a company, as well as having a sort of premine called Founder's reward, which seems kind of fishy to me.
How else would the company make money ?How could you not find developers having access to your private keys fishy ?

Their biggest drawback is the founder's rewards, and the anonymity, this coin is over hype, zcoin is a much better version I prefer the later than the former.. Soon this coin will lose hype and we will see it's real value.

Yeah I thought so. I only wanted your recommendation about it, before making any bad decision on the same. That being said, I will wait quite some time until the price stabilizes and decide whenever to invest the minimum amount into it or not. Besides, if I want to try out Zcash at this time I think it would be best to use faucets instead of investing into it. I've tried getting into "testnet" on Zcash but I haven't had any luck on getting connections to the network. If it wasn't by that, I wouldn't tested Zcash features by now. Their biggest drawback is the founder's rewards, and the anonymity, this coin is over hype, zcoin is a much better version I prefer the later than the former..

Zcoin? Isn't Zcash supposed to be the former "Zerocoin protocol" I used to hear about for a couple of years ago? Sorry for asking this, but I'm quite confused with this. Is there any difference between Zcoin and Zcash? Just curious to know as I want to learn more about it. And yeah, the coin has been over hyped the very first day it launched. When price was around $2000, I thought that Zcash was going to replace Bitcoin. But then, as days passed the price kept declining, and marketcap rating decreased thus making me realize that the same would be far from replacing Bitcoin ever. In my opinion, I don't think that any altcoin can replace Bitcoin for a very long time. That said, I will stick onto to good old anon coins like Dash and Monero.

Both zcash and zclassic are just "worth" something in theory, and it's highly speculative since no markets that i know actually accept them, so even if they are indeed highly annonymous, that feature is useless because it's not used anywhere.
Also, the prices, even right now of ~0,25 btc/zec is imho over-over-over hyped if you look at how many new coins will enter market in under a month. There's just astronomical chances market will be interested in keeping and fueling these prices.
I traded zcash while the price was jumping up and down around 1 btc purely to make some btc profit off of it, and honestly it was as if we were passing hot potato one to another, noone was really interested in the coins as such.

Its too hyped right now, and really what does it offer that is not already available?
Total hype is the reason its so high, coupled with low supply of coins.
I would not touch it unless it goes dirt cheap.

zcash is launch price is very high so zcash not good to investment, only good if you miner and get free zcash coin and the is hold or direct selling after receive zcash but if you want investment buy zcash and hold is bad

Anyone who invests in what these pricks has sponsored is deserving a total loss. Besides, 6 gatekeepers, if acted together can make unknown amount of ZEC, unknowingly.

Zcash is only profitable for miners. Otherwise if you buy from exchange you deserve to lose your money. Zcash is one of the most overpriced coins in history. If you mine it you should just dump it. If you don't mine, don't even check the price from exchanges.

I would stay away from it for quite a while until the price gets stable. The "founders" reward is pretty much the worst idea they could have setup imo. I get that they need some type of earnings from creating the tech and to fund it, but 20% is just too much. Then again look at ETH with its massive pre-mine....

Please please invest in Zcash. I was mining it for a while but it is no longer profitable so i shut my rig down. That coin didn't last very long (ZClassic even shorter). But please, please buy Zcash. The price will go up again if you all go and buy some and i will be able to mine it and exchainge it for more bitcoin The Devs just are not getting new coins out quick enough these days and they don't seem to stay profitable long, so please support Zcash until the next big thing turns up. MESSAGE to all DEVS, pull your finger out and make better coins, we have miners sitting idle here. Sort it out!

well you said it pal , even if it worth to invest for sure now it's not the good time to do so also let's wait and see cause people hyped ETH a lot before and we see that the interest went down for it for me I don't care about being anonymous , so BTC so far is my only investment in the crypto world

It was interesting to see how ZCash pumped along with Bitcoin when Trump got elected president of the US. The thing is, we don't know if 0.25 is a good idea or an absolute disaster of an entry price. I think we might see prices below 0.1... I don't think I want to gamble my hard earned Bitcoins with an untested idea of ZCash following bitcoin's pumps just because it pumped along wiht Bitcoin due Trump. We will see in the future if both pump at the same time or if it was just a coincidence.

it's better to wait for now because the price will tank again due to the block reward which is constantly increasing, better to wait until it reach the maximum , 50? and then see if it is worth to invest

we will only know after december. until slow mining ends the price won't stabilize. The technology itself did not impressed me, but maybe after we find the real price for zcash i could put some money in it.
