Agreed its a very stable currency in my opinion and has been performing extremely well from the past few months. I dont think its used by hackers and people to hide their ID to be honest. Zcash is a great coin, but it lacks a good amount of real world use at the moment. I've only heard about very few companies such as Bitwala, Private Internet Access accepting them at the moment.

Yeah. It may take quite a long time for ZCash's price to rise back up to its original levels since launch. Especially now, as the whole cryptocurrency markets have experienced sharp declines in value over the past days.

The good thing though, is that you will be able to grab some cheap ZEC while these massive price declines lasts. I have the feeling that markets will stabilize and rise back up again after Bitcoin's Segwit2x upgrade on August 1st. If it becomes successful, then the pioneer cryptocurrency along with the rest of the altcoins on the market will skyrocket leaving you with massive profits if you've invested earlier into ZEC.

As for me, I'm hoping to buy ZEC when it becomes worth $100. As soon as it reaches those levels, it will be able to secure a lot of ZCash for when the prices rise, and obtain massive profits along the way.

That all happened after Alphabay added 3 new coin wallets (Zcash,ETH,Monero)

Now all 3 coins is suspicious to use. It is backdoors in 1 of them. The most suspicious coin is Zcash.

Alphabay servers was operating for years with Bitcoin only.

After Segwit will be activated the more good futures will come to BTC including confidential transaction.

Competitors like Monero and Zcash will loose value,because they do not have real usage.

Another Alphabay/silkroad/silkbay/alpharoad whatever it will be called, will pop up soon enough. I'm a huge long term Zcash bull and accumulating more and more slowly. Just give it a year or two or three. Same with XMR, it may take a while, but when it goes, it goes big time.

I doubt any of markets will add Zcash, Monero or ETH again. Precident exist.

This will keep any markets away from this coins. They hardly will get real usage soon. I do not see why they should rise again in long.


A lot of people was investing in Zcash and Monero just because of Alphabay and real usage.

ETH have ICOs and dapps online it will probably suffer less from Alphabay closure. But have another problem - like Scalabilityand questionable PoS. Many people think that PoS is a bad idea.

Bitcoin in my opinion after Segwit activation is likely to be Your Majesty again. Especialy with new coming futures like confidential transaction, lighting network, mast,rsk smart.

This is very unlikely. If this technology achieves this level of success, it will be only a matter of time before someone implements it in a Bitcoin sidechain.

Since Zcash launch, prices have been around the $1000+ mark, however after a few days the price has gone down, and I think that it will continue to do so for the following days until it reaches the total supply of 21 million coins.

In my own opinion, Zcash has been overvalued, (considering that there have been privacy oriented altcoins before like Monero) and the fact that Zcash does not enforce anonymity by default (unlike Monero), it makes me wonder whenever Zcash would be a good investment or not.

If there is one thing that I don't like about Zcash, is the fact that it is behind a company, as well as having a sort of premine called Founder's reward, which seems kind of fishy to me.

Please let me know what do you think about this. 

I guess investment for zcash is not applicable for investment i guess zcash is a dead coin pumping and then dump a lot is not a good thing for investment in the end maybe there will be no profit earn for you i guess maybe try eth and monero or something like waves.

Zcash is garbage it always was garbage and it's always going to be garbage the development team has nothing has no coding experience and all they did was clone a coin flip a few numbers in it changed a little bit in the coding and then put it out there like it's some kind of new special thing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, no doubt there is some innovation in this. Some things are still confusing to me, the ZCash ceremony, for example.
I think there is still room for a major ATH, but the guy is expecting 100x return, kind of crazy goal.

Yeah. Since Zcash is just a clone from Bitcoin, with the addition of Zero Knowledge Proofs, it can easily be ported into the pioneer cryptocurrency itself. So, implementing it into a sidechain would be ideal to reduce load from the main net.

When this becomes achieved, people will use Bitcoin more than ZCash, due to the privacy features, as well as being the top cryptocurrency in market cap.

Nevertheless, anything is possible in crypto land, and it should only be a matter of time before ZEC remains as the top Zero Knowledge proof cryptocurrency, or another one takes the lead.

You do have a point there, mate. ZCash is basically Bitcoin with a few tweaks such as ZK-SNARKs and founder's reward. Given that it has the same codebase as the pioneer cryptocurrency, its features can become easily implemented into Bitcoin itself.

If Bitcoin adopts this technology, then ZEC may lose its value since people would prefer to use the top and most popular cryptocurrency to secure their transactions. Add to this the upcoming smart contracts feature for Bitcoin provided by Rootstock, and the pioneer cryptocurrency will become the biggest blockchain ecosystem in the world.

With this in mind, ZEC would have a hard time to reach its original price levels, unless something new and exciting comes up for it. Just my thoughts
