A BFL prototype that may consume 350W but produces zero hashes per second.

Had to double take for a second when I first saw that there was even a prototype, I thought John Titor had visited us!

That Monarch board was pictured a month ago on the BFL forums. Nothing new. BTW those 4x6 arrays of 'chips' are actually resistors for board testing, not ASICs. The actual ASIC is a large single chip; two of which mount on that board.

BFL PCie Monarch pictures...

very nice considering i have 900gh in monachs from my forced update (ie no refunds) on my products from APRIL they never sent on time ..(by the by on thansgiving blog they annouced they are "caught up on backorders")  as*h*les....when asked before 45 day disptute ended on april stuff they told me for sure in JULY.....pr*cks  and they got to keep all that $$$ for people getting doorstops..anyway I have a dog in the above fight and it is why I ordered from KNC a refund policy cc option on paypal etc on a hope and prayer I could salvage ROI too from BFL ..I had like 9 email exchanges with the Pres of kNC before I figured out he was not a sales guy (stopped bugging him then figured he had better use for his time)....anyway the monarchs are toast imho

Anyway would be nice if showed up but the KNC Jupiter has already saved my ass ROI wise ...so bfl can kiss my well...you know

I myself STILL never expect to see a unit ...and not being "bullet run" or what I like to call it "the first run for BFL's cloud hosting service" but still very early...I feel sorry for the folks (noobs) that bought at the friday bitcoin fire sale at 25 percent off

anyway I'll be here and now that Neptune comes out in mass before BFL gets its main (not bullet run for interal use) out imho

don't get me going or I'll tell you what I really think

All orders placed today will ship in November.

Well it's December now in Sweden and my "Jupiter November Shipping" hasn't been shipped. Way to over-promise and under-deliver. Sad

What was your order date?  I'm guessing it'll still end up being a better turnaround than any other ASIC producer.

This only happened because my order was not shipped yet. Im wondering what day it is going to arrive. Just sunk a ton of funds into my partner aka moneybags Neptune orders. Sure hope this pays off, I know the Jupiter for sure will but what might happen in 6months is a cointoss. I guess im on what I call the "Phoenix plan"..goin to try and sell Jupiter off to recover the Neptunes investment. We shall see what happens.

True, but that's no excuse.  They promised November shipping, and ought to have upheld that promise.

They promised 15th October shipping, but that didn't happen, so..

Yes, but what is indeed odd is that its their second run. I do understand that they had unexpected problems in batch#1, but now they should now how to build a proper assembly line and how to tune those chips etc. But again they messed up something and again they didnt communicate their delay.

True. I don't defend them by any means. I am equally unimpressed, but having experienced this before I now feel less angry with them.

My October order shipped 03-October, and was delivered on the 7th.  No complaint there.

and how does "We are shooting for" turn into a promise?

There was no mention of "shooting for" when I placed the order.

When I placed the order it clearly said on the website "All orders paid today will ship in November".

In my order history page it still says "Jupiter November Shipping".

I'm upset they promised modules to Mercury and Saturn owners, and then claimed they couldn't figure out how to manage that on their store front end. Which is total bs.  Then they basically gave the modules to Jupiter owners. That's probably my main gripe regarding promises.
