Got my 2 November Jupiters and powered them up with Seasonic 1250W X series PSUs. Setup was unbelievably easy - I was expecting a lot of problems based on what I've been reading on this thread, so it was a pleasant surprise.

They get 680 and 690 GH/s on firmware 0.99-E while drawing 870 Watts each at the wall. I am quite satisfied with the this and won't bother messing around trying to tune them for a few extra GH/s. I'm just going stuff these two boxes in the basement and forget about them until next year when my Neptunes arrive to take their place.

The initial batch of Neptune boxes has now been sold. We have however kept a few back for people paying with bank transfers.
 
All bank transfers that were initiated before 11:00am CET this morning will be honored. If your order has been cancelled and you have already transfered funds it will be marked as paid when the funds reach our accounts. But as of now do not initiate any more transfers.
 
We will soon release the Neptune product again and everyone will be able to purchase this time not just previous customers.

(dilemma brothers ask thanksgiving day...."whats new" er you DON'T tell them you make a crap load of at least in theory $$$ with btc coin...and BTC goes to the moon..er you get beat up....you tell them of course and ..they want in......2nd dilemma march 2014 BTC is at 250 usd ...if you did not tell them about bitcoin ..get beat up...if they get in and lose their ass .....get beat up...there is no winning with brothers in this situation

however ....if you can get only 1 unit ...cause I got on early am and was p/o'd I missed the window... yeah you guessed it 3 way split of the one neptuene I managed to snag (should have been a single child damn) oh well 1/3 the risk ...glad I did not pay in BTC last week that was like 4 coin diff with xfer to usd from today (assuming you beat the deadline)

Just a quick note to say that the factory started producing the November boxes today and 100 have already left via UPS.
We will ramp up production over night and over the next few days. We aim to have all the November boxes shipped before the end of the month.

Yeah I'm very upset. We were talking one day last week about how awesome the next KNC miners will be but doubted anything will come out till late december. The next day, orders are up for neptune. I can't do wire transfers from my savings account so I had to quickly move funds to checking. 10 grand doesn't move fast. Especially with Thanksgiving being stuck right in the middle.
Terrible timing. They didn't give many a chance. even if I were to pay in BTC, I don't have 10 grand ready at fire haha

How suddenly out of nowhere opening $10,000 preorders for something on 2 days before Thanksgiving here in the US is something you can say is "not having my financial situation in order" is beyond comprehension. Who are you to judge? Hell, if you just have 10 grand ready to spend at a moment's notice, I'd say your financial situation is pretty terrible myself. But again, who am I to make such a statement about someone's personal financial situation.

yeah its the sold out to "existing customers" in around 72hrs that is unnerving to me ..what about when they open the doors to "everybody" (NPR had a deal on bitcoin this am...now suddenly I'm not quite  the nut everyone assumed 1 week ago) ...and they have that full Chinese language www site  in place for a few months all ready to go....if china is nuts for btc they are going to go lunatic on mining machines imho (although with 2nd batch being in that 2nd batch with all that PH hitting the network....not sure I will buy...it is starting to look like an elephant doing a cannon ball in the pool difficulty rise wise...all at once all this PH hitting the network from everyone (assuming others ship) could have a miner "toasted" very quick from rising difiiculty not make ROI)

it is likely that they will sell out the 2nd batch in less then 72hrs imho assuming the web site can keep up at least if the past is any consideration ...if they took say paypal it probably would be 1 day sold out and/or credit cards (not sure if they will take cc or paypal when they open it to the masses anyone?)

but yeah thanksgiving and 72hr sold out to existing customers....I sure was blindsided by it...and under NORMAL conditions it takes usually 24hrs to have a wire xfer complete overseas or at least that is what my bank told me in the USA....so that cut the knees time wise off for a lot of folks ie get funds ready (my bank that may take a day from another bank or check) and then 1 day to wire xfer and of course have to wait till the main branch of the bank is open and the main guy is there (not likely say on day before thanksgiving or if you could wire xfer on the day after...wire xfer is not too common it seems...and solemnly tell you to use a credit card for protection..the bank people that is) all a real pain  for a lot of folk ..especially say if you had to have a line of credit approved by a higher up.. ...so yeah people we're diligent etc I think but considering they announced this TUES and the above bank open times and other issues  and Thurs banks we're closed...a lot of people like me expected to get more units on Friday after thanksgiving .....a bad thing in 20/20 hindsight....I was set to pull the trigger on 2 more for a total of 3 ....

in the future gonna have to play "survivalist" in ordering from KNC ....1) have $$$ or btc set aside if $$$ in the right account ready to go ..in cash in case you have to go to another bank to dig up someone who knows or has the power to do a wire xfer overseas..(yeah there really is only 1 person knows how at my bank and it took her 45 min to figure it out and get it done ..that is not an exaggeration)

2) stalk the KNC site for their flash announcements *usually like 8am usa time  3) bribe bitcoinrama for advance notice in forums with praise and bribes if possible 4)be  first in line to hit the trigger RUN to your bank to get the wire xfer thru with cash in a proper account ready to go with no holds on checks etc on the account..... if they are open or when they open...the bank that is

its always gonna be a "black Friday" sale at KNC from now on imho.... just saying  (the old build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door) boy is that apt

and if BTC flies up before the public sale, no doubt the first batch customers will avg down and buy more Neptunes

ah well 1/3 the risk instead of 3 units with the 2 other brothers...just 1 unit split 3 ways

by the by how do you know it was 1200 units? or just a guess?

as to the 2nd batch not sure with the entire bitcoin population of china trying to jump on knc's www site
that will not be a fun time assuming it stays up....also not sure if that much equip all going out in a 2wk
period is good for ROI options ...miner is like toast in a couple months ROI wise...may not be worth the risk if it is 12500 usd

correct me if I know squat.... but seems with stuff before coming out from other places cointerra/hashfast/blackarrow even (gasp) bfl may be able to get stuff out by april ..well that seems like a lot of stuff dumping in market at same time....look at knc and bfl etc this fall if the price for btc was still 150 when I got the unit more or less anyway oct 18th ..at 25 coins so far I'd still be under water..at that price ..anyway more or less

and that mainly was competing with BFL's dump (by the by the shipping blog today Thanksgiving Day shows BFL (except for some jallys going out Monday) all CAUGHT UP on their stuff ..at least to the point they can ship from stock from the factory....backlog is cleared....for all their old generation units....now when bbb or ftc calls they can say"what do you mean ..it took a year but they got a miner go away"

but anyway I digress. But think about it I "supposedly" have 900gh from BFL in jan (it won't show using this as an example) ...if the KNC miner is 3x more then that and all the stuff dumping in the spring..is it really gonna do any better then IF someone got 900gh cards from BFL (assuming they existed) in jan and mined as a Neptune minning beginning  of april?

..seems a pain to take that jump on batch 2...under those conditions...lot of bang bandwidth wise this spring let me tell you

on the other hand with LTC at 40 bucks ..and you can get the equip now...maybe the tail end of this carnival ride is better ...you can get...and just ride on BTC's coat tails.

just saying the happy sound of geeks digging their former mining rigs to now mine bitcoin is probably confusing the neighbors (and or the elec company)

The upgrade units were a bad joke, the fact that rigs were modular and we were told we could upgrade them was key to many, yet most people never even saw them available or knew they were on sale until too late. I came home and it was done and dusted. Didn't even get an email about it. Not upgradable for me at all simply because I couldn't have seen them in time and they won't be available again..the new rigs aren't compatible even if they have spares to sell. Looks like most of the Oct rigs aren't upgradeable now due to that.

All they had to do with any of these items was give us a heads up roughly when they'd be available...then someone who already funded them with batch 1 would have the chance to make sure they had that 10k ready to spend. People with their finances in order don't leave large amounts sitting doing fuck all when it should be earning interest or working for them no matter what that ignoramus just said.

Allowing people to buy 10 that they won't actually use while others can't order one ...that's bad too. With a little thought they could have limited numbers per customer for a few days to give more people that "loyalty reward" instead of people sidestepping the whole thing to supply them to new folk for a profit.

I wonder if there's a different list for Chinese orders, the batch split in some way? Going to be a case of when in the day they are announced to some degree if now, China gets 1st dibs and they may all be gone by the time the rest of us wake up.
