For buyers outside of EU inovice should be without VAT because when item arrive in designated country customs will charge the VAT according to value in inovice + shipping.
Either way, VAT will be paid in whatever country!

all depends about declared value of package and description. but yes, is true that if they declare real price, guys outside EU will be pushed to pay VAT during custom process
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Thats why Avalons had no problems at customs. They were paid in bitcoins. The package was shown as engineering sample, so you doesn't have to pay any tax. But there were a few problems with PSU-s wich ha real brand.

so if KNC declare low price and describe product as some sample, all guys outside EU will pay lower, then guys inside EU, which are pushed to pay VAT from real price.

I see, but customs are not foolish, if something is unclear they will request for inovice, link of store and other data. If they find out that seller declared false value then buyer can have penalty or custom seizure item.
Its not so simple...

This question was taking up.
KnCMiner responded they do not do any weird stuff they want to be as legit as possible and have no wishes at all to fake any kind of customs report etc.

knc will declare the product correctly with correct price tag. no messing around with customs from their side. that is what they said at open day.
vat goes not to knc, it goes to the state. if you think vat is shitty then elect other politicians but not blame a company for it. any vat collected by any company goes right through towards the local state.

That is incorrect.  If you don't live in the EU, you don't pay VAT.

Edit... I should be more precise.  If the country in which you live does not charge a VAT, you won't have to pay one.  For example, The U.S.A.

VAT or Value Added Tax does not exist in the US, therefore no VAT for US residents.
I have bought many items from European Internet companies - for the most part they
will credit the VAT when shipping to the US.  Only thing US residents have to pay is
import duties.

Country who has VAT will pay within their country when arrive, but knc product will have price without VAT.
If US does not have VAT then they wont pay it, good for them!

Ok mate, good luck with that. When you need to chase missing packaging and it's declared and therefore insured as an engineering sample valued at $0.00, can you guess what DHL will honour in return...?

Agreed - a missing or damaged shipment would make you SOL. I'm very happy that KnC is doing this by the book - always do things the right way and you'll set yourself apart from those who do business on the shady side.

I have read they partnered with ORSoC. That seems a legit and long living company thats trustworthy. But i dont remember to read how much financially KNCMiner is invested into ORSoC. I mean how much money did they put into ORSoC? Partnering could mean that ORSoC is paying the development and creation of the chips out of their own pockets. Were there numbers how much money KNCMiner put into ORSoC somewhere? If its much, and the amount of money KNCMiner got with their preorders isnt much higher, it would be a pretty good sign that KNCMiner is legit. Because they cant run easily.
Only thing to consider then would be the time when the miners are in customers hands.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

They're not going to tell you how much money that ORSoC or Sam and Andreas put into KnCMiner. They're a private company and aren't likely to expose their finances to customers. Our pre-order costs are being use to buy the chips from ORSoC and the owners aren't taking a salary until they turn a profit.

At this point, those of us that have taken the plunge are putting a certain amount of hope that they can pull it off. Investments with high rewards typically come with significant risk - there is no free lunch.

Sorry but I think you understood me wrong. On the pictures what I've seen about Avalons all the stickers shown engineering sample... So I think they were send as engineering sample. But maybe I wrong. Knc will send their miners with normal paperwork.

I don't know how is it going in the US but I've ordered several times measuring equipments from the US to EU and alwas took about 1 or 2 weeks to pass customs. A lot of paperwork, had to pay 10% tax. Thats the way If you do it with normal paperwork. Into EU at least...
