hi all


maybe i am a noob    but have a question here , so if the old v0.10.5.0 wallet is stil synchronize, even 1 year and some weeks ago,

i have downloaded the block chain as in previous posts,

but you want the new wallet installed, after starting up the new wallet it starts syn do you get a totally synchronized net work ?  i mean doe i not mis some blocks ?
the "end"total moon coins is wat i have ?

Hello i know that fork is happening at block 1'250'000 but how many days or weeks is that   and i have moved all coins from exchanges to desktop wallet v0.10.5.0 do i need to install version 0.13.9 before the fork and if yes when i install new wallet will coins automatically go into 0.13.9 from10.5 if i install on same pc or do i manually have to do that the reason i asked that was because about 3 years ago i up dated a wallet for another coin and coins automatically went into new wallet which i was very happy about as i was very nervous at the time and still am   and i presume if done before the fork i can send coins from 10.5 to 13.9 and what about after the fork can i still send from 10.5 to 13.9       as this process might seem simple to some people it can be very overwhelming for others and i am a bit nervous about doing this    i have had moon coin since 2014 nearly lost them once because of wallet update and i do not wish to loose my coins now   when is 13.9 ready i realise there has been a lot of testing but unsure if it is ready for the whole community yet   any help on this matter would be appreciated  and i also was wondering about mac osx users i have mac wallet and windows wallet 10.5

Make sure you backup your wallet.dat file.  (move it to another computer, put it on a usbkey....   put it in a safe?)

After you've backed up your wallet.dat file, you can then update your wallet.     and even if all fails, your still safe.
as you have your wallet

and i understand about the nervousness.  I lost a million coins, sending to paper wallets.

all because i clicked, before i printed.   thats it.

no just one,
if you  backup your "old"wallet with the coins, then install the new wallet,
after is all ready and sync then close the wallet ,
copy your old wallet.dat into the new folder overwrite that wallet
and then startup the wallet, new version, you see your own "old wallet adress" and ...with the coins

You must see a toggle monitor in "Overview" page.
If not confirm that you have in wallet directory a directory named "miner" and in there is the "minerd.exe".
For example:
wallet directory
 |
 --- miner
       |
       --- minerd.exe

If you don't have it, download it from our github https://github.com/mooncoincore/wallet/releases.
You will find with setups and exe list also, 2 cminer packages for 64 and 32 bit.
Extract, and copy paste the minerd.exe in wallet_directory\miner\.

I found a bug in wallet about transactions.
Right now, the release v0.13.9 is not able to send coins because, of forbid txs. The wallet categorize all the outgoing and broadcasting transactions as forbidden transactions!
I fixed the code in github but i will have the executable files in release ready in weekend.
Also, the code is from original v0.13.3 so, the same issue is in this wallet.

The main difference between the wallet with and without the miner (as far i can see) is that one have a miner folder inside the walled working dir and one not

IMHO, when you install the wallet without the miner, you should not see the "start mining" button!, it's a bit confusing

If you already have the new wallet, you just download and replace the mooncoinWallet.exe in wallet directory!
No extra setups, no nothing complicate.
I will inform, when i will have ready new compiled release.

When i have update from 10.5 to 0.13.9 and saved the new backup from the 0.13.9 wallet. Then i decided to refresh the install by erasing everything and install a  new fresh version 0.13.9 to test the back up .

When i install it. The wallet has open without problem dowloading the syncho, then i encrypt and closed. (working)
but when i have put it the back up of the 0.13.9 on the roaming app file the wallet make an error and cannot open it. (some windows error debug)
So i was worry about it.

I had to erase all files except peers, and then i paste the old wallet 10.5 on it.
then finally the wallet open and redownloading the chain with my correct ballanced.

I dont know why i got this bug.
May it could help someone or you can explain us if you have an idea about it (a bit strange bug that i had to fix by myself

It's tested and confirmed that wallet.dat backup works fine from 0.10.5 on 0.13.9.
when you changed the wallet to 0.13.9 the recommended method is to delete everything from mooncoin directory except your wallet.dat!
