Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Thanks. It looks good. The only thing I noticed was it's missing the close and minimize buttons in the upper right corner.

Good afternoon. It's a very good work ! I agree about missing of close and minimize buttons in the upper right corner.

Hi all,

This is intentional and looks much neater; the reason this doesnt become an issue, is because you can actually grab the wallet (by clicking anywhere on its face) and dragging it directly.

mebagger: None of these are issues; the seeds will be revisited once we make a decision to go forward with this code or not.

james

Ok I see what you're saying. You can still minimize from right-clicking the icon in the taskbar. It's not super intuitive but I get it.  But this one really is an issue:
2017-11-05 22:05:35 GUI: QSystemTrayIcon::setVisible: No Icon set
The try icon is missing for real. those little icons that show near the clock in the right hand corner are missing. There is just a blank space that I have to right click to get into menus. no little green M circle there. ... looking through the source now to try figuring out where it might be located.

How could the community make the decision without knowing details about mining?
The important purpose of this release, as it was discussed in this thread earlier, was to let people mine without pools directly from their wallets.
Mooncoin is a Proof-of-Work coin, which means that the network and its hashrate are very important, e.g. to prevent a 51% attack.
Currently several pools mine Mooncoin, and the network hashrate is not too low.
How do you expect, will these pools support the new algo and install the new miner, or not? Would it be simple for them?
Another question is will common users be able to mine MOON in a simple way directly from their wallets, or not?
If not, what is the advantage of new wallet? Blocks anyway will be fast (and even are quite fast now) if the network hashrate is big. The network hashrate depends on miners. If pools or users directly will not mine MOON with a new wallet, the hashrate will be low with all possible issues deriving from that.
Thank you for your work, and thank you in advance for your answers to these questions.

Is my Mooncoin on Bleutrade safe with the new wallet changes???

If you have your coins at any exchange, be it MOON or BTC or any coin, they are never 100% safe.
The reason is you have no control on your private keys. You fully depend on decisions of exchanges.
I recommend you to generate several paper wallets and withdraw your coins to these addresses.
It's very simple in fact. With paper wallets you will be protected not only against issues with exchanges,
against potential vulnerabilities, if there are any,
also against any malware, especially against keyloggers.
I mention that again, because in the past several Mooncoin users were hacked and had lost their coins.
And a lot of users had lost their coins due to issues with exchanges (e.g. with Cryptsy).

With the upcoming fork, if it happens, you never can be 100% sure about what exchanges will decide to do.
So if you don't want to depend on exchanges or on wallet versions, just withdraw your coins to paper wallets. It's the best decision.

If the fork happens,
and exchanges, pools, explorers will update their wallets, then yes, you'll have to update it, too.
However, if you keep your coins at paper wallets, then you have nothing to do until you'd like to send your coins from paper wallets.

when making the Paper wallets/addresses

make sure you PRINT OUT (or save) the PrivateKey...before sending coins to the public address and clicking on Generate (or closing) the paper generator...

cough.  Just saying! Sad

When you generate a paper wallet, you get a pair ADDRESS-PRIVATE KEY. This pair will be static forever, which means that the address and the private key which controls this address will never change. Coins can be sent from this address, or received in the future and its balance can change, but the pair address-private key is static.
If you send coins to the generated address, you will be able to spend them in the future only if you have a private key for this address. Anyone who knows this private key also will be able to spend coins from this address. So if you lose this private key, you will lose an access to all coins on a balance of this address. If your private key is compromised, then immediately send all coins from this address and never use it in the future. A private key is a text with letters and numbers, you don't need any special soft to keep it.
Generate your addresses and private keys only on a safe PC, better on an offline machine, never keep your private keys in a file on a PC with an Internet access - to prevent stealing (compromising) of private keys.
If you figure out how to use paper wallets, you will be able to safely keep not only MOON, but also a lot of other coins. It's realy worth your time to understand the simple basic thing about crypto, the pair address-private key.

Edit: when you generate pairs address-private key, make sure that you saved or printed your private key before sending coins to this address and before generating a new address. If you print your paper wallets, keep them only in a safe place, protected from water/fire, make sure that other people have no physical access to them and are not able to get a physical access to them.
For advanced users (if you use walletgenerator.net, it's not a problem): never generate pairs address-private keys with PHP, Python etc. functions, they are pseudo random.
When you generate paper wallets with a code from walletgenerator.net, there is a true random process, as you move your mouse randomly before generating pairs, to get a true random pair, which other people will not be able to reproduce.

Yup, all that is def true.

but if you dont keep the private key, and click generate new , you lose.    I did 5 wallets (paper) so far, and screwed up on one of them.   no back button  lol.

but still like the concept, and i have about 5 or 6 more to make.

I need to know how much moon is currently in circulation, since in coinmarket only shows the total coins that there are

Circulating Supply
222,495,304,857 MOON

I also need the creators of mooncoin to reduce the quantity of mooncoin that exists, it is incredible the quantity that there is, need to diminish minimum to 1 million of mooncoin or 6 million as xdn, although I would prefer 1 million of mooncoin, since the currency never will rise , you need a solution for this

You need.... "YOU" need the creators of mooncoin to reduce the quantity to 1 million...

WE the community will get right on that.  I'm sure the rest of the community, like me, wouldn't mind taking a huge loss in our investment just to make you happy.

Who the fuck are you to demand ANYTHING from ANYONE!

You are a special kind of stupid!
