There are a lot of altcoins out there but only a few of them are Scrypt based.

As far as I know these are the only Scrypt based coins.

Litecoin
Feathercoin
Novacoin
Mincoin

I've been waiting for another Scrypt based coin but none have come forward. I am a big altcoin fan and look forward to any additions to the altcoin family. I imagine a lot of people simply see altcoins as a threat to whatever altcoin they support. As no coin was forthcoming and the scrypt coins that came out did not appeal.

Novacoin I decided not to per sue as there was a private premine and the whole 110k NVC donation to BTC-e put me off.

Mincoin only has a a block reward of 2 and has a cap of 10 million coins. This would make it rarer than LTC which I do not think is sensible unless you want to try and become the new Litecoin.

So yes, another altcoin. This one is the light version of Litecoin, making it as light as a feather Smiley

There is BQC, also scrypt and still a little bit easier to solo mine, lower diff as FC but also lower Block reward. And diff rose dramatically the last days!

Thanks. I didn't realise that BBQCoin was Scrypt. It was a shame to see a just-for-fun coin be given such a hard time at the start, and at a time when BitCoin was cheap and LiteCoin were only cents.

yes, it seems a lot easier for altcoins these days.. so lets give bqc some attention as its still there after nearly a year, and soon some pools and exchanges may open for it

Mined overnight for a total of 1200 now... if this takes off even a little bit I'm gonna be happy. Also I'd like to set up a pool but don't have a server to do that on :/ I might dump in some money as an investment and rent one but not sure at this point.
