Since FTC has the same genesis block as LTC, isn't FTC vulnerable to get contaminated/taken over by the LTC block chain?
What happens if someone with the LTC block chain connects to FTC?
Are there checkpoints in the FTC client?

This is not a concern as we have checkpoints hardcoded into the clients so it would not accept another chain.

You can always start a new chain from the genesis block of any of the coins which will create your own version. It is the checkpoints that stop anyone from trying to force on a fake chain.

There is more information on checkpoints in the link below.

I'm really hoping for a web service or something along those lines for a live feed of trading on FTC.

dont know exactly what you mean with "live feed of trading"Huh you mean something like bitcoinity?

No live feed of trading prices..a ticker.  like http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/ticker/ of MTgox trades.

That's a very short period, try to mine for 12 hours, wait for the 120 confirmations to come through and look again.

So how is everyone liking all those people trying to scare people into crashing FTC's by making a big deal of the upcoming difficulty? lol

What do you mean upcoming? The difficulty increase the last 2 days has halved my daily coin output, that's a fact not a scare tactic.

Yes but that means your coins are worth twice as much to you, since you have paid twice as much electricity for them.

Unfortunately that's not happening, FTC is grossly undervalued on the exchanges atm. remember it takes the same amount of electricity per block as LTC, the only difference is the block yields 4 x more coins than an LTC block does, therefore FTC should be selling for LTC/4 and it most certainly isn't.
