.... I cant do that irl as I don't know any bitcoiners.
Until this day, you haven't converted a single nocoiner ? Really ?? You have converted some nocoiners to coiners Gachapin? It's not easy. .and do you confirm with them from time to time that they have not bailed ship? I sometimes feel that I have some folks on-board, but they tend to be quite flighty.. so yeah, not an easy ask in these kinds of times.. the conversion of a nocoiner to a coiner... only the durable seem to be left, and there do not seem to be too many of them in the actual real world.. even though sure, they exist, but I tend to be nervous to ask them if they are still buying at these prices.. .. it's like my prior conversation with d_eddie.. they tend to be evasive and vague. now 5 ...and my 6th one is in the making. I just wrote about it, here: .... JJG, have you become one of these merit farmers who are not reading and just posting stuff.... have you ?? I could blame whatever oversight might have been there on degradations in memory that comes from aging and other causes? Maybe? I would not expect everyone to read all of the posts, even though I can appreciate some of your frustration when the same exact meme, graph or link is posted within a few pages.. and it might have even been a subject matter that was already addressed (or was a hot topic a few years back and it is being raised as if it were an original idea).... yet still tend to want to give some of the newbies some slack, even though I also don't mind if other members blow up at them for failure to reduce image sizes, and maybe other annoyances. For the time I have been involved in Bitcoin 5 conversions are actually not that many, but as I wrote before I'm not doing it actively...
And of course, in case sirazimuth doesn't talk about being in BTC to anyone irl, I could certainly understand that his count is 0. But otherwise being in this space for 8 years without infecting anyone with the BTC-virus is a bit difficult to understand for me ...especially since BTC is such a grand innovation...
Maybe my contrast was largely intended to suggest that getting someone into bitcoin might still cause questions regarding how committed they happen to be../.and yeah maybe we are quibbling.. and I know that I touched some folks in regards to my bitcoin discussions with them, and in some of those cases, we are not in very good touch, so I wonder how committed that they might be in regards to if they ever bought bitcoin or if they held onto bitcoin that they said that they bought.

I understand. For sure many newcoiners might not have the battle tested diamond hands that many WOers have. When it comes to my surrounding I make it very clear that BTC is not a get-rich-quick vehicle. So most of my "conversions" have a time horizon of many years, some even 10-15 years. And I guess I couldn't expect more than that from a newbie.

Same trend, different year... my interpretation of bearish market psychology right now.
Still hearing some bears talk of "happy to pay a higher price for Bitcoin" once the current trend shows strength. Because they still think price could drop to $12K or lower. While I'm not opposed to this idea, the problem is these same speculators were previously talking about being willing to pay a ~20% premium around $20K when price was around $17K, expect most of them didn't, as price was parabolic & overbought.
Now many of them are talking about being willing to pay a ~50%+ premium around $25K, once the 200 WMA is reclaimed. Again, waiting for confirmation back above this moving average isn't the worst idea, but let's first remember it's not really resistance. Price crashed through it in June as it failed to act as support, then moved back above it for a few weeks as it failed to act as resistance. It's no longer either in reality.
I can very much see the same trap developing here leaving many speculators behind. If price get's rejected by $25K and returns to $20K support levels, they will be very much vindicated. But if not, there is a big trading gap between $25K and $30K and it is more likely price will simply continue to the upside, rather than turn it into support. This will leave many to then buy back at a ~100%+ premium >$30K imo.
This might seem overly optimistic, but it would be very reminiscent of 2019. Most thought price would get rejected around $6K and therefore would be able to buy back lower, as it had been previous support for many months, but instead price broke through like a knife through butter. Maybe it was based on short liquidations, but either way it left people having to buy back at higher levels, around $7K at best.
It's not even that I think $25K won't act as resistance, I think it probably will and could create the short-term reversal back to support levels, it's simply that I don't see price turning it into support any time soon...

It sure is not easy. Of all friends/colleagues/relatives I've tried to introduce to Bitcoin, about 80% completely ignored me. Most of the remaining 20% became shitcoiners and ended up in much less profit, or even in losses. The problem everyone seems to be having with Bitcoin is that "it's too expensive...". Go figure. I can count only 3 people that actually listened to me and currently own Bitcoin. All 3 did it because they just trust me. I don't think they really have a clue. Strange thing, Bitcoin...

OT: https://news.yahoo.com/five-police-officers-were-fired-192741747.html?ref=upstract.comI normally wouldn't post things like this here anymore, but I'm so fkn mad right now. The hypocrisy here is just... I have no words. I seem to recall an entire nation laid completely hostage one long summer (during the height of Covid, no less) due to mass riots, burning buildings, etc. over a certain person who died like this. Rioters took control of the entire city of Portland, OR for months and months. Well I guess they only mass riot, vandalize, and burn buildings when it is a bunch of white cops doing the killing instead of POC cops, huh? Funny how that works. Nary a peep of this on the major MSM news channels. Unbelievable.

Until this day, you haven't converted a single nocoiner ? Really ?? ~snip I can understand. I talked to my friends, family and many colleagues about it - including several who came to me with questions. I managed to get one good friend to purchase a tiny amount of bitcoin (the value of dinner and a movie for two at the time) but he sold it all the second time bitcoin went over $1k. The only other person I know who bought some had nothing to do with my prodding; it was because his IPTV provider decided to accept only Bitcoin for payment. There was one other guy who was always interested and would ask me about it every time I saw him but I don't think he bought. It was always too expensive. I just ran into him a week ago and we chatted for a bit - I told him the bottom was likely in and this was a good time to start if he hadn't already - he smiled and gave me the thumbs up so maybe he's already started and just being tight-lipped about it? Okay, I'm just being hopeful... they're all still nocoiners
