kinda off topic
but anyone have an idea on what kind of transaction fee I'd get hit on for a $1,634.00 BTC transaction?
thanks....trying to guess
use this : https://estimatefee.com/Transaction fees do not depend on the quantity of BTC you send, they depend on the size of the transaction you make, that is, the number of addresses your wallet need to collect to gather the funds you want to send. So no one can answer your question. If your wallet is very fragmented, it's gonna cost you a kidney.

Not sure if your question is serious, because the fee has nothing to do with the amount you're sending. It all depends on the number of inputs and outputs, and of course the current mempool situation, and speed you expect.

Man that .6 I made on the way down is looking really good right now. I'm starting to like JJG ride the ladder strategy. Staggering, incrementalism, laddering or whatever you want to call it seems to work really good, even though frequently you will only be making small amounts. However, practice, practice, practice, should cause you to remove wrinkles, take out some emotion, and even increase your profits in both fiat and bitcoin while providing you with decent levels of downside insurance. 2017 been an amazing year for bitcoin, and really the past 5 months with the showing of largely resilient BTC performance to go up an additional 3x to 4x beyond the more bullish of expectations, in spite of the renegade hardfork (aka BCH) (and I suppose even other threats of renegade hardforks, such as Segwit2x dying on the vines). My threshold of thinking "don't go below x number of bitcoins" levels were largely projected as a kind of pie in the sky at reaching such possible low threshold levels in the $13k to $15k price levels, but then we experienced more than 4 decent sized corrections (and of course the distribution of Bcash dividends did not hurt either) causing my "don't go below x number of bitcoins" level to move up to a new pie in the sky level of $85k -ish... This is simply amazing that UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN and UP - even when we had been starting to think that we are experiencing WAY TOO MUCH UP, but causing an ability to sell bitcoin, have larger cash reserves, and still to come out with more bitcoins... even only if feeling like little by little.. it all seems to add up.

At the current state of the blockchain, with a standard 2 inputs 2 output tx, a non-segwit would be a little over $8.00. I would set fee at 170 sates/byte right now. Thanks you will be tipped for your math...will send you a pm so I don't lose your avatar/handle now as a test...will shoot off tip as soon as I see if my frigging wallet works on these purchases brad pay taxes on crypto you are going to the birdcage n00b lol happy new yeerzzz<<<

Same here on the taxes, and probably a larger one next year. Remember if in the USA, you'll get hit with the gains tax 20%+, the NIIT tax (Obamacare) 3.8% on top of that, your state/local taxes on top of that, and you'll probably have to pay a lot more and loose all your deductions as you'll pay AMT taxes instead of regular. UG!!!!!

Yeah, well, I ain't gonna fight the IRS on what they are due. That's just a bad time right there and too much stress. I'm a proud, patriotic American Citizen. Fuck you. It's less stressful, possibly overpaying on quarterly taxes, than needing to stress about the prospect of a FUCKING MASSIVE bill due on April 15th of you didn't play by the rules. Trust me. Having to deal with a FUCKING MASSIVE payment on April 15th is much more painful than making "very healthy" payments, quarterly, to the IRS. It drives my partner crazy - that I round up to the nearest quarter-thousand when it comes to paying taxes - but I've been on the other side of owing FUCKING MASSIVE back taxes, and that's not something I ever want to deal with again in my lifetime. I can feel your pain.

Why do you Americans put up with these state differences anyway? The idea of moving up the road and having to change your driving licence and pay hideous amounts more tax seems very silly.

Are there not similar differences in laws between the states that make up the European Union? The US is a federation of states, not a single monolithic state.

Silly Americans, here in Germany we at least have no Speed Limit on Autobahn for the hands of taxman in our pockets. We pay all in all easily more than 55% or income to the taxman.
Bitcoin really surprised me this year. Mempool really surprised me this year. Fucking Chainsplits should never have happend. But now that they did I wish they happend years ago already.
Honestly though. Something deep down tells me bitcoin has seen its moral peek long ago and is moving now on dead weight momentum of a really fucked up global economic system. Its like a zombie-steem-train on acid that will reach the moon.
If life goes multi-planetary and I have little doubt it will Blockchains have two Options: either seperate chains per Planet or waiting times between blocks longer than radio communication. Let DAG be good for thought.
Happy new year 2018. For sure to keep my Bitcoin.

Yes, but it's not a country (yet) and you might get your botty slapped if you did intimate that. If you're in one country then there'll be small regional variations but no need to restart your entire documentation and tax regime if you move a few hundred miles away.
