Considering the nuance, subtlety and sheer psychological influence on display in these posts I think this bot is the first categorical sighting of three letter agency/deep state psyops in the wild. No one else has the resources to carry something like that off.

The whole Tether issue is only an "issue" if they are created out of thin air.

If every Tether is backed up by an US Dollar then they can pump Bitcoin all they want (and have the right to do so)

When we attacked the Bitcoin LN we failed across the board except for the massive nodes that crashed however they were quickly fixed and running again. This was a win-win for Bitcoin LN; only time can tell how Bitcoin Cash will withstand the assault.

I'm convinced their "stress tests" caused my node to crash a couple times, and caused my pipe some grief a little while back.

Got some good debug logs out of it though, and the LN folks are very very fast to fix bugs/issues upon submitting them.

I think one of my crash reports was resolved and checked in within 8 hours of the report, once, for example.

Some really intelligent and highly-motivated people working on Lightning.

Its not a issue if central banks do this all the time.

Since nobody complains about central banks printing money out of thin air, I think its fair to not complain about a private company printing tether out of thin air.

Hey all, still lurking here. Missed a bunch of pages while focusing on business and life. Even had a couple days where I forgot to check BTC price. I'm considering another hodl position if price gets lower but not too fussed at the moment.

Remember that wire transfer I sent over 3 weeks ago. Well....Fuck.. still hasn't arrived.   I found a typo in the account number made by the teller and even after fixing that, a week later it still hasn't moved.
More time out of my day today to sort through this, probably having to reverse the transaction, pay to do so and wait for it to come back only to try again.
Totally BS dinosaur system.

I did ask if the recipient would accept BTC but didn't get a response on that.
I sure hope we get cross currency exchange platforms using bitcoin that sinks the swift system. I sure could use it today.

That totally sucks. Banks and governments are not only inefficient, they are incompetent.

I was in Thailand, sent a package to French Polynesia (through the government post office). Checked the tracking number and the package arrived...in Paris (hint: Paris is not in French Polynesia).

I wish that whenever dealing with those institutions I could just manually do every step for them.

For anyone that's completely clueless in this thread, having actively traded on Bitfinex for a decent duration of time in the past, I can say for 100% fact that a single entity controls the bitcoin price using that exchange since bitcoin was $200 and this entity longs and shorts, but spends most of it's time trying to raise the price.  They try to crater the price to accumulate, then raise it.  It's a classic pump and dump.  

From observing this entity, I'm also postive the Bitfinex exchange owners are in on this operation.  It's either the exchange owners themselves doing it, the Chinese mining cartel, or some giant TBTF bank like Goldman Sachs.  The main reason I throw the TBTF banks in there is because this entity seems to be completely above the law while a normal person would already be in jail for the stuff Bitfinex has done.  Then there was also supposedly $400 million in drug money seized in Poland that was affiliated with Bitfinex and not a damn thing happened to them.  Kind of reminds you of HSBC being caught laundering $800+ million in drug money.
