What do you think about this?

I believe if you are not in possession of your private keys you really don't "own" bitcoin. Keeping your coin on exchanges is a non-trivial risk at best.

That being said, I have kept a small portion of my coin on certain exchanges for limited amounts of time at various points of accumulation.

I suppose I am distrustful by nature, part of me questions this. Is this just an attempt at chain analytics? Be that as it may..use proper security measures if you choose to participate.(ie dont reuse addresses ect)

Really liking the idea of Proof of Keys especially for new comers. I found out the hard way that leaving coins on the exchange is not a good idea. People need to understand that if they want to invest in bitcoin they also need to invest in some of the ideas around, ie  becoming your own bank.

"If" the global economy takes a downturn?  Debt based monetary systems require infinite growth to not collapse.  The two main factors to feed said growth are global energy production and population.  Global energy use and production have been flatlind for A LONG TIME, and population growth has peaked in every nation that matters (as they should, otherwise everyone would die from reproducing out of control).  So the system is mathematically doomed.  Setting interest rates to 0% or lower to try and stop it would just create more malinvestment and an even bigger, catastrophic crash.

In the end, there are two main relevant facts:

1)  Borrowing has to have some type of cost

2)  Lenders who are morons and lend to people who can't pay back have to eat the loss

If it is fulfilled, it will be a tough Stress Test for exchanges.
The problem may be in exchanges that are not solvent or those that manipulate the books.
