[snip]

I really want it to reach $100k. Can't help it. On the other hand I also want one more chance to buy cheap bitcoins.

Mixed emotions, buddy. Like Larry Wildman going off a cliff in my new Maserati.

https://blog.bitmex.com/the-schnorr-signature-taproot-softfork-proposal/
Quote
Abstract: We summarise and provide context for a recent Bitcoin softfork upgrade proposal, which includes a new digital signature scheme (Schnorr), as well as a complementary upgrade called Taproot, which adds new capabilities that extend Bitcoin’s smart contracting capability. The upgrades are structured to ensure that they simultaneously improve both scalability and privacy. Other than increased complexity, there are no significant downsides to the proposal, and the most controversial aspect of it is likely to be the lack of other anticipated features. We conclude that although many will be enthusiastic about the upgrade and keen to see it rolled out, patience will be important.
Nice expo.

Who could possibly understand these caveman RNG games they used to play in wooden shacks in the 1800's.

Well we all know your choice of "play".
You have been known to wrestle furiously with that snake of yours since the beginning of time. So?
We are not that judgemental. Wink

Just went over my transaction history.  My best purchase was at $3290.  Pretty happy with that considering there are only about six days that I could have made that purchase on.

That’s probably as close to buying the exact bottom that I will ever get

Edit: which was $3122

I'd accept a little less if you want to get out of our bet early.

Would it be uncharitable to mention that your modest proposal made me chortle in the exact same manner as CZ’s proposal for a roll back?

I'm bored as hell - rainstorm outside, no beer, no laptop and no umbrella/transportation - so I'm gonna tell you my bitcoin story.

Uncle Nutildah's Bitcoin Story - Chapter One: Nerd Money

I first heard about bitcoin on an NPR podcast in 2011 but didnt think anything of it other than "nerd money" that will never catch on.

I heard about it again via Andres Antonopoulos on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He made it sound extremely interesting. The way he talked about it was like we were on the verge of witnessing a financial revolution guided by technological breakthroughs. The passion in the man's voice was incredible, as was the clarity in which he explained how it worked.

After letting the idea of the blockchain sink in and finally grasping what it was all about, I set up a Coinbase account and after a couple weeks of waiting for ID verification to process, I bought my first BTC at around $700 a coin. I had no awareness of what MtGox was or what had just happened there, but I watched the value of my coin plummet pretty rapidly and steadily for quite some time.

"This shit is stupid," I said to myself as the price of my coin dropped below $300 a few months later. What do you do with it? You can't spend it anywhere, if I sell it I lose money -- it seemed to be pointless. Nobody cared and I was on my own with it. Well, it turned out the best answer at the time was "buy other coins."

To be continued...
