I thought this here famous forum was the bastion of truthiness.

Title: "Fake News Epidemic Plagues Wall Observer Thread, Causes Turmoil Among Bitcoin Enthusiasts"

Date: July 3, 2023

In a shocking turn of events, the Wall Observer thread on the Bitcoin Forum has become a breeding ground for the spread of fake news, leaving Bitcoin enthusiasts reeling from the negative consequences. This online community, once known for its vibrant discussions and insightful analysis, has fallen victim to a wave of misinformation that has resulted in chaos and confusion among its participants.

Prominent forum users, such as sirazimuth, nutildah, d_eddie, and JimboToronto, who were once respected for their contributions, have unwittingly played a role in perpetuating the proliferation of false information. These fictitious quotes, concocted to illustrate the situation, shed light on the severity of the issue:

"I heard from a reliable source that a major Bitcoin exchange is on the verge of collapse. Sell all your Bitcoin immediately!" warns sirazimuth, spreading panic among the community without any substantiated evidence.

In response, nutildah amplifies the unfounded claims by stating, "I can confirm this news. I have insider information from someone who knows a guy who works at the exchange. It's definitely going under!"

Contradicting the baseless assertions, d_eddie tries to inject reason into the discussion, stating, "Let's not jump to conclusions without proper evidence. It's crucial to verify any news before spreading it. False information can be incredibly damaging."

Despite d_eddie's plea for caution, JimboToronto fuels the fire by chiming in, saying, "I've heard that Bitcoin's price will plummet to zero by the end of the month. Brace yourselves for the imminent crash!"

The ramifications of such false claims are widespread. Many Wall Observer participants, influenced by the fabricated news, have panicked and hastily made decisions without conducting due diligence. This frenzy of irrational behavior has caused unnecessary market volatility, resulting in significant losses for some traders.

Recognizing the severity of the situation, the forum moderators have taken action to combat the spread of fake news. Stricter moderation policies, including fact-checking mechanisms and active participation from trusted community members, are being implemented to restore credibility and ensure that accurate information prevails over sensationalism.

Many shitcoiners want Gensler gone because of his views on 'what is a security' being perfectly in line with the Howey test.  They are afraid.
But his seemingly harsh stand on these garbage projects is actually why I think he might be the best deal Bitcoiners can get.

Shitcoins surely brought in a lot of additional speculative money, but I don't know if that paper-hand-money is exactly the kind we would want.
Also these projects often had a detrimental effect on the Bitcoin market (like Luna, etc)

Yes, the SEC under Gensler denied countless BTC spot ETFs.  But I doubt any other SEC chair would have acted differently (it was obviously a political decision).

Also Gensler has probably way more knowledge on how BTC works than any other chair I could think of (but wtf do I know). His MIT lectures are still among the best courses for Bitcoin newbies.

...funny, 2000 is a year I bought my first house using the stock market proceeds for the down-payment...family liked it.
Interest rates were 8.5% in a booming market/economy.
The total number of $$ that i was supposed to pay over the life of the original loan was shocking, something like 3X of the mortgage value.
....of course, I refinanced a few times with much lower %.

@philipma1957...I wonder when you bought yours?

1992  rate was 7.875% 30 years

We paid it off in 7 years. I quit smoking in 1996 so at that time 25 a week for smokes went to pay mortgage down. Homes were cheap in 1992 compared to now.

The mortgage was not too high. So 125 a month x 12 = 1500 a year extra for the mortgage. NJ lets you pay it down without penalty. Our house is over 500k now a nice jump from 144k in 1992.

It's not about capital size, it is about how you manage it and you place into different categories, and surely if you are in your beginning stages of building an investment portfolio, it can take many years for the amounts to start to get bigger and Bigger and BIGGER.. but similar principles apply even if you are dealing with small amounts.

Tell you something about my Bitcoin accumlation, the country where I live aka Pakistan crypto is ban. So there are many little ways to acquire Btcoin. The only source for me to gather Bitcoin these days is through signature campaign. So its like I am gathering Bitcoin in DCA manner.
I dont know for how long I have to HODL them till the time the ban is lifted.

That's what all degenerate gamblers say.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Trust me I am an honest Liar.
