I have a question. Please explain what is activity? I was thinking it's equil number of posts i made. Now i have 30+ posts and only 14 activity, why?

your question can be simply replied that  u get 14 activity  every 14 days    1 activity = 1 post

so simply    if u post 14  or 1000000 post  in 14 days  u will get same activity  which is 14    and u will need to wait for the next 14 days to be able to claim another 14 activity

those 14 days dont start from your sign up day  they are fixed and u can check when the next 14 days will come  in this spreed sheet  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA

and if u want a more detailed topic about ranking up and activity  check this great topic
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0

Thank you for the info, help is always appreciated.

You'll be a Jr. Member forever if you cannot learn to read the OP of a thread before posting a question that it contains the answer to in the first 3 lines.

Maybe new ranks will be introduced since more and more people are becoming Legendary members but with the new merit system limiting account farmers, I doubt anything will change when It comes to the old ranks.

Do you mean you'll buy it? NO and you should NOT. You'll earn it by contributing in the discussions. If you have a helpful and constructive posts, anyone with sMerit could recognize it and give you some Merit. It won't be as easy as 1,2,3, but it's possible to achieve. Don't ever think of buying Merits, most likely you'll end up losing your account when caught.

In order to be able to rate projects transparently by the community and professionals crypto needs a decentralized solution.
We are tackling exactly these kind of questions by rating projects with DRC using Blockchain Technology. DRC Incentives  the Community in conjunction with Professionals to assess projects and help create standards in crypto projects.

Distributed Regtech Platform (Abbreviated for DRC) is a professional and intelligent risk control and management platform based on blockchain, which sets up an “autonomous, mutually trusted, professional and transparent” distributed network for regulators, innovation projects and professional risk control agencies.

We have already created Due Dilligence Reports for Projects like IOTA and Bitshares

Can someone explain the calculation of activity in terms of post and time spend online?

Thanks

It's really not that hard to understand .
You only get activity if you have posts , and you get max 14 activity per two weeks .(So if you don't have any posts you won't receive any activity and if you have posts , you will get max 14 activity per two weeks) . Now for what comes to how much it will take your to rank up etc .. then this should help you :

Code:
1 X 14 = 14
2 X 14 = 28
3 X 14 = 42   --  Jr. Member ( 1.5 month)
4 X 14 = 56
5 X 14 = 70   --  Member (2.5 month)
6 X 14 = 84
7 X 14 = 98
8 X 14 = 112
9 X 14 = 126   --  Full Member (4.5 month)
10 X 14 = 140
11 X 14 = 154
12 X 14 = 168
13 X 14 = 182
14 X 14 = 196
15 X 14 = 210
16 X 14 = 224
17 X 14 = 238
18 X 14 = 252   --  Senior Member (8.5 month)
19 X 14 = 266

The way activity is calculated:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

To become a Donator or a VIP, send a PM to theymos to get a unique donation address.

Took the liberty to update it according to the new Activity & new member limits/groups.
Edited with proper number of coins.
malevolent - update: added info about the new rank, changes to the Staff rank tag, removed the deprecated "SCAMMER" sub-rank. Also included info about the posting limits.

Signature restrictions

There are restrictions on signatures, based on your activity/rank.

- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters.
- Jr. Member: Max 150 characters.
- Member: Links allowed. Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

Badges

I added a system of badges to SMF a while ago, though only two are defined now. Here are the current badges:

https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/badges/expert.png Bitcoin expertDev&Tech only. People with this badge know enough about the Bitcoin network to reimplement something very like it from scratch. They are capable of intelligently discussing the Bitcoin network: current protocol, possible attacks, proposed changes, etc. Criteria: Recommendation by an existing Bitcoin expert or core dev and approval by a forum administrator.
https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/badges/qt.png Bitcoin-Qt core developer Dev&Tech only. These are the core developers of Satoshi's Bitcoin client. They are listed here. Core developers are among the top contributors to Bitcoin-Qt, and they are all bitcoin experts, though they don't also get that badge.
https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/badges/hacker.png The Glider(hacker symbol) Awarded for people who have responsibly disclosed forum security flaws.

A core dev does not "outrank" a bitcoin expert (or vice-versa), and it's possible for someone without a badge to contribute meaningfully to a discussion with experts and core devs.

Limits on posting

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

Limits on PMs
I've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult.

Activity   Min. seconds between post actions   Max PM recipients   PMs per hour

1674530
3060560

I have a Question, how do you go from being a newbie to a junior, if you can't post in the first place, is there some magic room I need to enter.  I'm trying to boost my status but no idea how to? I'm not sure if this place is ran by slytherin or Mark Zuckerberg, either way could some please give me merit so I can move up.  Signed lost in bewilderment and angst!

The answer is in the OP (that enormous thing you just quoted for no reason).

if you can't post in the first place, is there some magic room I need to enter.  I'm trying to boost my status but no idea how to? I'm not sure if this place is ran by slytherin or Mark Zuckerberg,

You can post.

either way could some please give me merit so I can move up.

It is not permitted to beg on the forum.

I've noticed that a couple of users now have sub-ranks such as "copper member" and "gold member". I didn't find any mention of these in the first post, and while examining it, I also noticed that the original poster has "global troll-buster" under their username. Anybody can shed some light on this? Thank you.

Copper membership can be purchased Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images

The others you have seen are a 'Custom title'. The user can set it to read whatever they want. To get this you can donate 50 BTC and become a VIP, get a job as a global moderator or just ask nicely.

The least amount of posts you need to make is 25 (since you already have 5 posts & activity, across two activity periods) and those should be made until you enter the next activity period (biweekly):

- At least a single post on the next activity period (in case you max out or post more than 25 posts prior to reaching the next activity update)
- Next activity update is on "4/24/2018"
