Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)

me think people trust the ranking system too much. Most people just look at the rank of the member and decide if they want to deal with that guy.

I don't really think it's a good idea to do that.

The activity and rank represent for how active you were in the forums for a period of time. A scammer usually want quick and fast profit and wouldn't bother ranking as It could take up to 1-2 years for Legendary and Hero for example so It really make sense. I mean what are the chances that you will trade your bitcoin for PayPal (which is a reversible payment method) with someone who just made his account?

I am highly appreciate if someone can let me know what exactly which action that bitcointalk consider as an Activity?
For example I just did one Reply on this Subject and I see they show 1 activity on my Profile, So i think they consider Reply as one Activity

So, anything else they consider as one Activity?

They are all counted as activity, but only one post is counted towards your activity count. So, if you post like 50 posts per day, only one of them will be counted. They also update activity count every two weeks.

A lot accounts was hacked here, as my old one also. there would be much more higher ranked members than we have now. I don't know who to contact about hacked account. Post related to that theme on forum is old and admins don't replay for more than month. I know it's little messy there but again.

What you just did, making your first post. It also can take a little while for it to update, which it has now.

You can either wait to become Junior member or If you want it badly, upgrade to copper member, which require paying a fee.

all you need to do is read first the forum rules.. And yes you may able to get an activity or having rank up by posting here.. But there's a limit on posting.

You have to do everything manually. Go to your post history and count on how many bi-weekly periods (according to the link above) you've posted in, then simply count it's potential activity (14 for each period).

You have to do everything manually. Go to your post history and count on how many bi-weekly periods (according to the link above) you've posted in, then simply count it's potential activity (14 for each period).

If I'm not mistaken, Potential Activity is different.

Example, if a user signed up a year ago, but has only made 1 post every 2 weeks for the past year, they'd only have 26 posts and 26 Activity, keeping them a Newbie. But because they've posted within every activity period, their potential activity would be Sr. Member, based on 364 Activity (14 Activity x 26 weeks). The only thing limiting them at that point would be their Posts count. Am I right to assume that if this were the scenario, their activity would rise 1:1 with their post count until their cap was met? I think this is what's meant by Potential Activity.
