Hello,

I have suprpassed 120 activity two days ago and mantain Member ranking. Should not be upgraded to Full Member ranking by now? Is something to do with this new merit thing? Or this is not an automatic procedure and have to wait some bitcointalk dev make the upgrade?

Yes, you will need to have 100 merit in order to upgrade to Full Member (It happens automatically). More details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

With 15 points of merit today only in 2030 i get full member. This thing of changing rank member conditions without prior notice to anyone in not very good....
Ooopss i forgot that this forum is not a democracy.....

Of course it isn't. You just came to the owner's dreamland like everyone else, so don't try to make a coup Tongue.
Obtaining the required merit is hard but not impossible, you should just post useful informations and credit others for their good posts.
You will rank up sooner, let's say 2020

Upgrade your account to Copper Member to remove the PM limitation or simply move to another communication channel, like email for example.

So, for a newbie to become Member, it will take at least 5 weeks.  Am I correct?

Because you also need 250 Merit. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350

Where have you been hiding not to have noticed this change?

Produce high quality posts and in return someone might send you some "Merit" points.

So, for a newbie to become Member, it will take at least 5 weeks.  Am I correct?
Wrong. It used to take 10 weeks (5 activity periods) but now there's an addition of 10 needed "Merit" points as well (see the link above this post, posted by "TheQuin").

two 14 day periods equal 2*14 activity, but you need 30 for Jr. In other words, you have to wait another 14 day period.

I believe you're referring to this thread. If yes, this document contains the dates for activity update and not ranks, you will still need Merite points to upgrade now.

The bitcoins required for Donator and VIP are still the same? The price of bitcoin is now too high for anyone to donate 50BTC.

I think it will take 30 days of daily activity. I stand to be corrected.

I still don't get why rank is so important to y'all. Yeah, I get it with newbie jail, flood limits and such are annoying, but once you make it to a full member, it just looks cool. It's not an indicator of personal merit (see what I did there?) or anything like that.

I confess that I like having "legendary" next to my name. But does it actually say anything other than over the last half decade I've wasted a lot of time on here? Not really. It wasn't all a waste, either, but the point remains.

The 'merit' system, I kind of like. Jury is still out in my mind, but it gives a way to reward positively people who contribute. The actual ranks?

Before "legendary" was a thing, I saw Hero Members scamming left and right, and Newbies fresh to the forum being solid citizens, and everything in between. For some reason, new people then thought the ranking had something to do with trustworthiness. Seems they still do. It doesn't. Pirate@40, for instance, was highly trusted... and ran with the money. Hell, past performance doesn't even prove anything. Apparently friedcat turned rogue while I was gone. And he was cool as hell back when.

Basically, don't stress it. If you have something to say, say it. Flood control is easily fixed with Notepad and well thought out posts. Once you're out of the flood control zone, the rest is just time in service. Have fun, say your say, and above all, LEARN. I was ACTUALLY here long before my official join date, just too much out of my depth to open my mouth. Things have not gotten less complex since then. Listen, read, observe, THEN post. Good posts are more likely to earn merit.

Yes. This has been discussed already. It's something along the lines of "it wouldn't be fair for those who paid 50 BTC years ago". Also, there is no real benefits in becoming a VIP or Donator and the forum doesn't need more money.

I still don't get why rank is so important to y'all. Yeah, I get it with newbie jail, flood limits and such are annoying, but once you make it to a full member, it just looks cool. It's not an indicator of personal merit (see what I did there?) or anything like that.

It's important because the higher is your rank, the more money you get by joining shit ICO signature campaigns.

Most part of this forum isn't here to learn about Bitcoin. They only want money. I have seen a user who made 60 posts in 1 day to get 120 activity and try to become a Full Member. Then he made a post "what is this merit thing". I explained that it's a new system where you need to make high quality posts to rank up and his spam efforts wouldn't be enought for him to get a rank. Guess what? He didn't make a single new post since them and haven't log in yet.

You can see in this spreadsheet:

Or can you look in this thread: TIL Activity does not work on precisely 2 week intervals + interval timings
