Activity updates at the time precised there but will not show immediately, you have to wait approx 1 hour or + to see it in your profile Some coins require you to be a jr. member on bitcointalk to be involved in their airdrops and bounties.
Being a junior member is a matter of time /3 periods. But being a member requires 10 merits which is a challenge. Newbies joining only for coins will not help them so much since they will stuck in junior member forever or be banned for unsubstantial posts..

Can anyone explain what this 'merit' thing is? I seem to have 100, but I don't have any clue how I've obtained it Thanks!

Have you been hiding under a rock for the last week? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0Edit: Sorry that was a bit harsh. I just checked your post history and it seems you were not active last week. Even so, if you check the Meta board it is absolutely chock full of threads about it.

How do I increase my rank when I have enough activity?
You start by finding your way around the forum. On this board Meta you'll find threads explaining the Merit system. Then when you have read that read more threads and learn things. Interact by asking questions that haven't already been asked thousands of times before. Then people will start to Merit your posts and will be able to rank up.

Yes, because you are too lazy to read the posts above you and you didn't pay attention to the Merit thing in your profile or under your name! Read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0, i won't explain since it is obvious.

I've had '(and am still having) a crazy week at work this week, so haven't been able to spend even 5 minutes on the forum.. Went in for the quick solution. Many thanks either way

now there is a merit system, can jr member rank up to member although there is no merit, because for beginners like me it is very difficult to get merit, and have to fight hard to get it.
Thank you

I looked at some of your recent post history, and yeah, if you are posting in crappy threads (bounty, whatever the fuck that is), then it could be more difficult to receive merits. The new merit system is described in the OP of the below linked thread... .which OP pretty much states that you need 10 merits to rank up from jr member to member status. Looks like you already meet the activity requirements, you just need to get 10 merits. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Even though in the above post, you are coming off as snotty and seemingly sarcastic, I am going to give you a merit anyhow because I did a quick glance through your recent posts and you have several seemingly decent ones. You would have already been a member by now, if it was not for the change in the system to add this merit requirement, so now, all you need is 9 more merits to rank up from jr to member. Should be doable, if you want it. Good luck.

Can someone explain my question ? Is 1 activity equal 1 post No, not exactly. Upon making 14 posts (for each bi-weekly period), you also receive 14 activites but anything beyond 14 posts, won't be added towards your activity number (until you reach new activity period and make a post).
