The node scanner at p2pool.co is back up and working at http://p2pool.co. It was down for a little while.  Please try it out.  Feedback is always welcome.

On this node scanner always limited node list. You must manually add them?
Why not add all nodes with http://poolnode.info/?

I always see way more nodes with poolnode.info while I usually only see a few on p2pool.co, but I am not really sure why.

Thanks for the feedback.  Is there a programmatic way to get the IPs of all the current p2pool nodes?  I could use that to have the site automatically update.

That is a good question for windpath.

It's really pretty straight forward, however you do want to consider the load you put on the network (i.e. how often you scan for nodes)...

Just pick a node, get the /peer_addresses endpoint, and crawl outward from there.

Example: http://p2pool.org:9332/peer_addresses

I've just read an article that the lightning network code is written in Go.
Not sure how true that is but says the code runs super quick.

When using "--merged" with ANY secondary coin, does it matter if the underlying coin has any coding to allow merged mining?  Does the secondary coin have to be designed to permit merged mining? or does P2pool circumvent such requirements?

Secondary coin MUST support auxpow.. No auxpow support, its not able to be merge mined with p2pool.

A white paper for a new decentralized mining pool was released tonight. It requires smart contracts so it is not yet ready for Bitcoin, but they claim to have had success on etherium's testnet.

They also claim to have solved the variance problems p2pool would face if it gained mass adoption.

I plan to fully dive into it as soon as I can, but thought others here might also want to check out the paper...

So smartpool is an interesting idea, however IMO, its a long way off, if it were to be adopted at all...

We use Ethereum smart contracts to build a decentralized pooled mining protocol called SmartPool. Our solution implicitly replaces the centralized pool operator by network participants who run the Ethereum network.

Also noteworthy is that this can also be built on RootStock, without depending on the Ethereum network.

I'm going to put this on an old box and give it a try to see if p2Pool will run.
Apparently it will multi thread over cores so could make a difference to the back end speed.

At first glance the node appears to be functioning correctly. Perhaps either you ran into some bad luck, or have unrealistic expectations for your hashrate?
