Found 2 blocks today. That makes 3 in 9 days. Earned 27 LTC in pool, solo would have been 75 plus fees. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Just on one unit? Or across multiple miners?

2 units (504x2)

what pool are you using? I ordered as well but its my first time.  I already asked for some pointers but no-one replied.

and how would you mine solo? do you need special software and setups?

I'm using www.litecoinpool.org it is an LTC only pool and has NO FEE and pays out at 102%...no drama ..never goes down
i have not even had a backup pool set since Nov 8th 2014 lol Smiley

You can use this calculator to see what it pays out at the 102% rate as a comparison ...or play with the price (i find $50 setting sooooothing.....fantasy calculator wise Smiley

www.litecoinpool.org/calc

If you plan on hoarding LTC it works great. Even on old evil knc titans Smiley

Litecoinpool pays out at the 108% rate already))

They raised PPS rates from 102% to 105% to 108% this weekend. Either they are tracking ahead on finding blocks or people are moving to other scrypt alts as Litecoin isn't the most profitable scrypt alt at the moment.

I would think they want to gain ground. Looking on the total pool sizes F2Pool had over 50% yesterday.

And Doge is raising in value and from my understanding they merge mine it no?

no need to speculate:
Update (2017-05-22): Thanks to the recent changes in relative market prices, we've been able to increase the PPS ratio to 108%

basically the same reason it was lowered to 102% earlier

125 amp sub panel
all 10 awg wire feeding 30 amp 240v outlets

Sounds to code. Holmes on Homes would be proud

Yup, if your still dealing with 120v for mining your going to burn something down eventually (especially if the outlet is not near your panel).

This is what all my miners run off...DIY 240v junction boxes running 10AWG to 30A double pole breakers in panel (capable of at least 6kw continous draw per box). Each box has relays controlled by wireless pi's, so always have full remote control shutoff/start up for locked hardware etc.

Dont need to step foot in mine unless im adding new stuff Cheesy

How bout that for an equivalent of a 1K USD PDU unit for 50 bucks worth of parts  Cool

Is it so dangerous to run 4 x L3+ 24/7 (only 1 L3+ (~800W) / circuit breaker) with 120v? I intend to use a EVGA T2 1600W PSU for each L3+... maybe use 'eco mode' to reduce noise, but I'm not sure yet... The answers so far have been incredibly useful... thank you guys so much for that!

Doge has double in price (the main merged mine coin with Litecoin). Thats the only reason PPS went up to 108. FYI for each LTC block they find, they mine an equivalent of ~2.7 of LTC worth in Doge...thats an equivalent of ~111% PPS so effective pool fee is 2-3%

If you try and mine it all on one breaker you will most certainly trip it (most 120v breakers are 15-20A)...4X L3+ miners will pull 27 amps on 120v. Even two on a single breaker is pushing 120v. So good luck finding 4 separate outlets that are on separate breakers.

Its really easy to make a 240v box. Even if your not an electrician its not rocket science. Just buy a double pole 30A breaker (about 10 bucks), some 10gauge wiring (its orange color in any home supply store), and some outlets. Take off your panel and turn off the main breaker if you've never done this to be super safe. The breaker literally just plugs into the main bus slots inside your panel. Connect the black and white wires to the breaker, and the exposed copper to the ground bus bar. Then just hook up the other end to your outlets (you can use the 120v kind, almost all PSUs work at 240v so there is no need to buy 240v outlets and new cables for PSU etc).

You can pull at total of about 6kw from this 30A double pole breaker...enough to power all 4 of your L3+ and then some! Plus all your wires will be super cool and don't have to worry about your old 120v wiring in your house catching fire.

Is there a way to solo merge mine? without having a lot of tech problems?  Do i need to set up my own pool?

Even better i use this

http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/a7815420?cid=308991&st=&gclid=COWj6MjeiNQCFV6Bswod7B4PiA&lid=5841087&VEN1=s2pCbviqn,157252457753,901pdb6671,m,,A7815420&VEN2=,&dgc=ST&DGSeg=DHS&acd=1230980731501410&VEN3=574903317285083354

It plugs into the wall where you want your miner and the other end connects into the part of your house where you would "hardwire" your network connection in.  No wifi its connected.  Slick device that has served me well.  Works whereever in your house for other devices that has spotty wifi connection too.

So in the past 2 weeks my two L3+ have mined 6 blocks. I can clearly say I did not receive 6 blocks of revenue.
3 to litecoin pool over 13 days
3 in one hour at hashnest. Unless they are using the scrypt hashes for another altcoin with less difficulty.

You have understood pool mining wrong.
In pool, every found blocks are shared between all miners in the pool.
You don't get to keep your found blocks.

If you want to have 100% block reward for your found block, then you need to go to solo mining, but it is little more risky than pool mining. It depends a lot on luck.

You can log in via SSH and check network difficulty in cgminer or whatever they use on the L3+.

I'm finding tons of blocks with an S7 on Nicehash Smiley

I'm pretty sure MachineZero understands that and is pointing out the seemingly extraordinary luck.

I understand pool mining. I've just been getting too lucky on individual basis and makes me question if I should go solo.
Also, not sure how I mined 3 blocks on hashnet in an hour. I suppose the shares could have been allocated to an altcoin with small difficulty, therefore the L3+ displaced a lot of the GPU hashes.

if the pool is reporting the LTC blocks found that you have had extraordinary luck as 1 L3+ should find a LTC block every 22 days at current difficulty.
2 L3+ would find a block every 11 days.

If your L3+ is reporting the blocks found it is a combination of any LTC blocks and merged mined coins.

Litecoinpool for example pays over 100% in LTC by mergemining LTC and another coin to cover profit and expenses.

If you want to solo merge mine LTC and Doge go to Ltc.tbdice.org

Mining LTC and other alts since 2014 when I thought I missed the BTC train.
