I think the ones which clock higher... have a higher ASIC quality like 90%... so unless they added a whole bunch of extra VRMS, MOSFETs, etc then that GPU you can undervolt alot and it will consume less power than most 470/480.
I remember with the 280x, most had very high ASIC quality and most would run under 1.0V. But the 7950/7970 the ASIC quality was always lower and those needed at least 1.05V-1.075V to run.

If you run the same settings it will be 5-10% less watts.
Are you sure? I dont think so.

We'll have to wait for some miners to post their results, but just from reading reviews on gaming and hardware sites it sounds like the best case scenario is that they are able to undervolt and equal 470/480 performance at the same wattage. I'd love to be wrong on that, everyone likes efficiency improvements for sure... :/

Greetings. Its April 18, the day we are supposed to see the new RX570/580 Series from AMD. I am creating this thread, so we can share information about those in one thread. Some Info from different brands and their speeds here: https://videocardz.com/amd/radeon-500/radeon-rx-580https://videocardz.com/amd/radeon-500/radeon-rx-570I guess there is no 8000Mhz Samsung ram anymore for the RX570 Series, i hope its not true I think there are many people, including myself, who have been waiting for the rebrand to build new rigs, so lets see if it's worth it. Feel free to post info about different brands, bios moding and stuff you fell is relevant to this thread. I've got several brands that I am testing...XFX landed a several days ago. So far everything has been the 7000 Mhz clock on the 470 4 gb versions that I have tested and the info I have seen for the 4 gb versions. MSI samples are in the mail. Just getting ready to play with the 8 gb versions when they arrive next week to figure out the brands of ram in the different versions. Just because the versions come clocked at the slower speed doesn't mean the ram won't handle the higher clocks.

i just bought one from newegg about 4 hours ago.. on my break at work.. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202278it's now out of stock. I had a 290X go bad on me this past weekend, and i don't have the time right now to troubleshoot the stack of 290/280x on my to do list. I got this to replace it and to make my e-peen larger than it actually is.

I just ordered 5 of the MSI 8 GB RX580's that should be here by Friday. I have a rig already setup and ready to go with them and can post some results by then if no one else has. I didn't want to pay for next day shipping otherwise I would have had them sooner.

I hope the old series go cheaper, as the new ones are expensive...
Anyone know which Sapphire Series has dual bios? Are Pulse series an option?
EDIT: Damn, the RX 570 Pulse series are only 4GB
I guess the Nitro+ RX 570 8GB will be the one to buy for faster roi, it requires only one 8 pin supply.

We all hope that the old series RX 470 and 480 to go cheaper but if there is not improvement in the new series RX 500 then for sure the old series will not go down on price. The RX 470 is really bad for gaming but miners are keeping its price up in Ebay still because of its mining efficiency. I hope that the new series will perform better than the old ones but it doesn't look so until now. That is the only option for RX 400 series to go down in price.

570 is only with 1750MHz memory, even 8GB.

Yeah, but the 580 is expensive and is burning even more energy. Thats why im wondering what the Pulse edition is > i know it has weaker cooling, but im not sure about dual bios etc. Pulse 580 8GB is about 40$ cheaper than nitro+, which is a lot so they had to take someting out. I would still go with rx 470 nitro+ 8GB but im guessing its gonna be hard to get those in bigger quantities.

Yeah, but the 580 is expensive and is burning even more energy. And without a modded bios , the 570 does 22MHASH @ ethereum right?

And how to actualy mod it But yeah, probably around 22-23, and the 580 with 8k ram should be around 24-25, which doesnt justify the price+energy consumption.

Here is the difference in sizes between RX480 and RX580 Sapphire Nitro+ Now this is some nasty shit right there O.o It was noted on reviews about how big the heatsinks are on 5xx series, so in simple terms, 5xx series uses 33% more power and is also 33% bigger to contain that heat. The performance is as much as 6% more, so basically you are wasting around 25% more power for the same performance with the 5xx series.

Should be able to down clock/volt to 480 levels and get lower power consumption and the same hashrate + less noise then?
Or is my logic flawed?

I'm curious of getting those heatsinks over memory means better memory overclock. Hmmm....
