RX 570: Power consumption goes up quite a bit with core frequency so I throttled back my RX 570 to 1200/2100 core/mem.
This is a Sapphire RX 570 Nitro+ with Hynix memory.
Some stats:
ETH mining @ 1200/2100: ~29,67MH/s, power measured at wall with one gpu: 144W
ZEC mining @ 1200/2100: ~295 H/s, power: 131W
HWinfo shows "only" 28 memory errors after 30 minutes of ZEC mining.

4 or 8GB?

Yeah, I guess I should have stated it.  So it is a 4Gb.
And this test rig of mine is powered by a shitty Corsair 750W bronse PSU, so the power figures would be slightly better with a gold PSU.  Mobo draws ~40W idle.

So far as I can, in terms of power, the 570 uses the same or slightly less power than the 470 at the same core frequency.
However, the 570 has one 8-pin and one 6-pin pcie power connector, whereas my Sapphire 470 Nitros have just one 8-pin
power connector.  So there will be more cables running between your PSU and GPUs.  So far I havent tested if the 570 will work ok with just the 8-pin connector connected.  When I get time I will test if it is possible to run the gpu with just the 8-pin power connected.

It should run on only 8-pin, some have tested it and it works.
Bellow text is from sapphire page:

1 x 8-pin + 1 x 6-pin (optional) AUX Power Connector

So i guess its optional  Grin

Yep I also read that you only need the 8pin , I think it was @apneal who confirmed that.

hi @ all,

iam having this brand new Powercolor RX580 with 8GB Samsung RAM.
If i try to open the Bios which i saved 3 different ways (GpuZ, winAtiflash and atiflash ethos) it always shows very serios timings.

Can someone mod me the Bios or explain to me for good eth performance ? i did for 480 4G but these timings looks odd..

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4NHxtaCZnw4MzJ2dm9aeWI1dGc

When i use org. timings from this 580card it is slower 2MH/s slower then my rx 480 4GB from Powercolor.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4NHxtaCZnw4RVIwVS1ZQWJkaFk

Thank you.

With RX470 you will get about 30% slower decred performance. I have RX470 compared to the RX580 it consumes at GPU-Z 85W-90W and hashes with 28.3 MH/S ethereum and 620MH/S decred and the RX580 with the same settings consumes about 95W-100W at GPU-Z and hashes with 28.8 MH/S ethereum and 920MH/S decred  so it is better to buy RX580 .

How do you reduce the power consumption on the RX570/580 to be equivalent to RX4xx ?

I've just received the Gigabyte Aorus RX570 4gb, doing 28.5Mh/s + 715Mh/s ETH/DCR (-96mv, strap 1500, 1100mhz core 2050mhz mem), 120w gpuz, 160w wall

Core voltage still 100mv higher, my RX4xx have same performances but only 75-100w gpuz !

I'm wondering if I should sell my stock, unmodded Fury X (30.8 MH/sec ETH, 465 MH/sec Pascal) and try to snap up two 580s. Or should I wait for Vega and then upgrade? I'd love to run Vega when it comes out, I'm just wondering if two 580s would be more efficient to run while I wait for Vega or if I should keep running one Fury X.

If I keep the Fury X, what should I try to overclock? I know with a Nano at 940 MHz mining just ETH, it was around 26 MH/sec. I think I need to overclock the core if anything cause I have free electricity, but would memory speeds eventually become a bottleneck?

It appears to me the 570 is taking a de-volt better but I'm still seeing higher consumption.

RX470 1150/2100 88.5w -- 30.5MH/s -- bios set to 915mv / GPU-Z showing 0.9813v

RX570 1150/2100 99.7w -- 30.454MH/s  -- bios set to 905mV / GPU-Z showing 0.8875v

I am trying to locate my kil-a-watt to get some real wall numbers.

What tool do you use to mod the bios to 905mv ?

Are the Sapphire Pulse RX 570 4GB shipped with Elpida memory? Or what manufactor?
Can anyone report their expierence with bios mod settings, memory freqency they use and resulting ETH hashrate?
Thanks a lot...
