It worries me that he disappeared right about the time China was rounding up a large number of "Internet Activists".
Too bad he is in Thailand and a Canadian national that is unrelated to his situation. I will do what I can again to track down his phone number and give him a buzz and see what is up. I will try tonight and get back to the forum here tomorrow. That is a good point. I thought Thailand was under the Republic of China? Or is it Taiwan... Either way it doesn't matter. and I am sure that you're an American, some US citizens always manage to give me a smile when it comes to geography Edit: I don't know if asking "Or is it Taiwan" is the worst part, just saying, you guys lost a war with them... didn't they teach you that in history class ? edit2: OK I just want to admit a fail on my first edit, I was thinking about Vietnam referring to the war hahahahaha but it is still hilarious

Starts with a T don't it? lol China has significant sway over affairs in Thailand. Taiwan... not so much. Anyone have new updates? working K16s with low HW error rates? Anyone with 8-chip boards have OC results? Thanks for continuing to work on this project.

Taiwan is an independent country, not under the control of China. China makes the world pretend that Taiwan is part of China, but we want Taiwan as an ally and a customer, so we sell them a lot of arms and China knows not to mess with them.

Mobile numbers in Thailand (+66 8 xxxxxx) get disconnected fairly quickly (a matter of weeks) if the account is not used or topped up. Cheap as they are, they are also pretty much disposable. Did he not run a local BTC exchange for a while too? Edit: Don't the mods have access to users' IP addresses?

I believe he mentioned in the past he had been selling on eBay for ten years. Anyone know what name he went by there to see if the account has been active?

I got some 220pf 0402 caps and some 560 ohm 0603 resistors. I plan to try changing C274, and R45 + R46 for these on one of my K16s to see if it brings it to life.
I'll be using just a fine-tipped iron by hand...

Is there no one that lives near BKKCoins and can check his place? Maybe a subforum will help when his details are known. Or is there no address? Its really strange...

Phoning didn't work. Newar and Mr. Turtle are in Thailand I believe they might be able to track him easier.
I will drop him an old school postcard to the address I drop shipped items to and see if that can raise him.
Yes this is worrying.

A postcard is a good idea. In case he is not able to get on the internet for some reason someone other might get in contact this way. I mean not everyone knows what to do with the internet.

Yeah, postcard is a good idea. Also, if any of you know where he lives and are somewhat nearby, maybe drop by. He's been off a rather long time. Obviously, I don't know the man, but this seems odd. Hope he's ok!

Well, it seems I failed to get the right resistors, and I've got 560 mOhm resistors. Fortunately I noticed this before I installed them. I did measure the resistor I removed, and it measures 1001 ohms, so the "mod" has not already been done to mine. I've got some actual 560s on the way now.
