Prototypes are already running but a final version is (imo) still some months away.

There are several differences in comparison to Golem. One is for example that Elastic allows custom work-jobs being processed using an own programming language. While Golem focuses (at least at the moment) on predefined jobs and only very very longterm could handle custom designed work jobs.

Maybe... but ICO price was just 800 satoshi and people are dumping elastic to fix their huge profit. I don't really expect the price to rise until this sell off is over.

But it may happen that Golem's predefined jobs could be much faster and more secure than Elastic's custom jobs. We have seen a video where Bitcoin was mined, how can we make sure that a custom job doesn't contain malware.

That's an excellent question.  I'm not the expert in Elastic PL, but I don't think you could write malware in such a custom built language.  If I'm wrong, please correct me.

This is a really good question. I'm pretty sure for now, the answer is yes, you can write malware on it.

However, I am pretty sure, those working on Elastic are aware of that. For example, this is where the supernodes discussion came from: possible ways to fuck up Elastic would be to write jobs which contain infinite loops or jobs with absurdly high complexity, so supernodes were proposed as gatekeepers, looking over job code, before aproving it.

I have faith in this project. Since i dont know who is behind it, i'm worry, but for majority of investors i think some more transparency is needed. Also some news about the project should be released on BTC related news sites, so more people would know about it.

I think supernodes are still being tentative, and coralreefer isn't really happy with them afaik

This project has anon devs and active community members (to the most part at least). In my eyes these core members in this project have proven themselves reliable and trustworthy much more than most less anon individuals in other projects. Facts speak for themselves.
Those who feel too uneasy with people keeping their privacy, should look elsewhere.
Those who can see the true value and potential in this cutting edge project, and have faith in the people who are involved in it, are more than welcome to be part of this community and get involved.
I agree that more PR and information should be supplied to the general public at large and the crypto sphere community in specific. I have no doubt that this will progress as we move on forward.

It is fixed to 0.1 XEL at this moment.

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied
