I'm finding it difficult to put a value on this coin, from what you guys are saying here it could be a good investment, but there is something i don't yet understand fully and that is what can xel be used for? for ethereum i know but for xel other than calling it a supercomputer what is the true utility of Xel? who can use it and for what purpose?

(…) who can use it and for what purpose?

In case of Elastic, "Supercomputer" is actually supposed to mean "Supercomputer" in the sense, that you can use XEL to buy computational power on the Elastic network. The simplest way to look at it looks like this: technically, the PoW cryptocurrency enviroment is a giant decentralized supercomputer, but the computations executed have no inherent value, apart from verifying transactions. The computations themselves (mostly finding magic hashes of some sort) are inherently useless. Elastic started out with the idea to use this computational power to actually do something useful with it: job authors can issue jobs ,as in computational challenges they need answers to, and miners can earn XEL by solving these jobs.
Due to the way the PoW infrastructure is set up, not every job can be executed, though. For the most part, Elastic focusses on jobs that are hard to solve, easy to verify. Who exactly will be a regular user of Elastic is not clear yet, but efforts and the way this whole system is set up point towards the scientific community.
For now, Elastic is a very open system. Think of it more like a set of legos; you can build a lot with it, but you have to figure it out on your own. Over time, I expect libraries with "building instructions" to emerge.

Hy,

Great idea and curious how the execution will go the comming years(HODLer here).

One thing I couldnt find and probably overlooked. Is there an explenation of the forging....how many xel can you earn a day/week/month if you have xxx amount of XEL.

You have a link with the explanation?

tx in advance and keep up the good work.

noooo idea, crypto is crazy.  it could pump to 200k then dump (on some big news), so that is one option.  other option is nice steady rise to there on tech/value and investment (maybe some whales pump) on its own.  but 200k should be sometime in 2018, hopefully first half.

So looks like all the donation phase profit takers are out also alt bear market seems to be nearing an end, expect a stable floor over 20k within a month IMO. Extremely dedicated devs.

I'm happy that this great project finally gets some love Smiley Some days ago somebody made a remark that not many people are forging.
I've started forging with my 3k XEL last week, but no rewards whatsever. I'm thinking of moving some XEL back to bittrex to take some profit, if there would be better rewards I wouldn't be thinking like that.
