What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?
I think they believe in Bitcoin and its potential. They believe that Bitcoin will dominate the crypto currency market in the future and be the future currency which is used by everyone. |

WRONG. you need to look at the bigger picture. right now you are just looking at a short period of time where bitcoin price has came down a little. if you look at a couple of months you can see a rise from ~$880 to $2900 and right now it is sitting between $2200-$2400. even if it falls more it will still be much much higher than the couple of months ago. with that said, did you get your answer to why people hold bitcoin People hold their Bitcoins despite of the dumps because they simply know that it'll be back to normal and it will eventually increase. The reason is that inflation and deflation happens and are expected by most. They are waiting for the time that its value will rise as if dumps didn't happened. My point is that, people hold their Btc because they are aiming for bigger profit as time passes by. |

Bitcoin itself a big coin market runs in both direction we cant expect market moves only upwards so its a normal thing for me that in the present scenario market is fluctuating but we all sooner or later it will be bullish thats why people are holding bitcoins they are not in hurry its a matter of patience.

I guess they expect bitcoin prices to reach very high prices, so they can sell them. But, there are some people who just keep the bitcoin they have in order to save it. Well, everyone has a goal, but the most likely is to wait for the bitcoin price to go up.

Keeping the bitcoin free from devaluation, and they are waiting for the price of bitumen to rise, they will sell off all bitcoin to capture a large profit. |

I think many people hold the bitcoins because bitcoin's price will be more expensive in the future, bitcoins be considered as new digital gold and digital asset, bitcoins can protect their whealty from inflation so they hold bitcoins for long time. Ofcourse. The main reason why people hold bitcoin is that they wait for the right time to sell it. The right time is that of the value of it become more higher than its cost when they buy it in order for them to create income and to get back the capital they used and ofcourse to have some extra financial income. |

I think most people are holding Bitcoin including myself for the very obvious reason, we believe after all the rumors and speculations about bitcoin we strongly believe it will eventually increase its value in time. We are not saying we are a 100% sure but we have high hopes for Bitcoin to skyrocket in a few years.

The value. They wait for the value to move higher so that if they sell it out they will have a higher income than to their cash out when they buy the bitcoin. And sometimes long term people are holding because they want it for bitcoin to get higher in the future so that if they sell it they will have a good income. |

I do not think this is a critical situation as you have imagined, and the reason why people still hold bitcoins because they believe bitcoin has a good future and bitcoin is a great investment form. There is nothing strange to question why there are still many people who hold bitcoin, because they are sure to get a good profit in the future. |

People are recently holding there bitcoins for a long period of time because they are assuming that bitcoins price would increase. Because we cannot say that bitcoins price would definitely increase or decrease, so it's better to just hold your bitcoins and wait to increase before you sell it. |

Exactly thats the big picture we are all waiting for for...high prices and that's why other bitcoiners speculate about these prices to protect their bag load of coins and to encourage others to do the same and maybe one day they would be millionaires |

People are recently holding there bitcoins for a long period of time because they are assuming that bitcoins price would increase. Because we cannot say that bitcoins price would definitely increase or decrease, so it's better to just hold your bitcoins and wait to increase before you sell it. Holding is the safest way to make profits from bitcoins as we have seen that price has always gone higher in long term so if you buy them now and hold for next few years then it can give you best profits on your investments and for the same reason people believe in holding it for a longer duration. |

That is what is expected from any investment,the prices move up and down and when it comes to bitcoin all the speculation and uncertainty will be cleared pretty soon and then it will shoot up in value just like that and i really still think the price is a bit low than expected as we could have easily crossed three thousand with the last rally . |

There are two reasons, first, long term holders are planning to hold for a very long time, a decade or two maybe more, so to them this is nothing, especially if we compare this to the 2013 crash, and second, if you sell at a lower price than you bought then you lose money, but if you keep holding and the price goes back to normal then you did not lose a thing, so as you see the explanation is actually quite simple. |

Yes and the basic reason behind holding bitcoins is to make more money from it in future as we have seen great growth in the price of bitcoins in this year in compare to last year so if we can hold them for next 4 to 5 years then we can make huge money from it at that time. |

Most of the bitcoin holders are waiting for the rise of the Bitcoin, will bitcoin buyers are waiting for the falling value of bitcoin.
And i think mostly of the bitcoin users will hold their bitcoin for there are news and speculations that bitcoin can be higher at value.
Holding a bitcoin is also investing your bitcoin to get it's maximum value.

Bitcoin price has kept on fluctuating because of the upcoming bitcoin fork with the falls outweighing its gains and there is no reason Bitcoin hodlers need to panic as we should start to see prices easily raise when the current problems are fixed and demand starts to rise again...just need to keep holding a little bit longer
I believe that the bitcoin demand will increase once again when the fork stuff is over. The bitcoin price will once again rise as it is still the number one choice of people in the crypto currency and people have believe on it. This dip of the price is actually the life cycle of the businesses that every business face and so is now with the bitcoin. I hope this will over soon and the price will once again shoot up. |
