for me holding Bitcoin is just another good challenge. I don't care when the price was low and I still do not care when the price is actually very high. I can say it has made me too lazy during these past months but I should not leave earning Bitcoin as it is not just a money earning source it is also a newspaper of Bitcoin. I get all the latest news every day here and it's good to read and write for a student like me. especially when I get paid for some study.

What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?

Obviously they are hoping that the bitcoin market value could go up still these day i guess they are long term holders long term holding could really give you a good profit in bitcoin i guess bitcoin is really the most successful coin in the market still these days in august 1 i guess they will hold and hope to be success for bitcoin.

In the drop of bitcoin a lot of holders just sell there bitcoin but other dont want to be like that they can sell there bitcoin in a dump price in the market because they will not earn any profit in that situation so they will just hold and wait until the second time pump.

I know that in the dropping time of bitcoin only those people often sell their bitcoins who are new to bitcoin and who do not know much about the future of bitcoin while those people who have full knowledge about bitcoin often do not sell their bitcoins and they know well that the future of bitcoin is bright and the price of it will again rise so they wait for a better time

Yes most questions are answered already and its obvious though the reasons why. Most people hold bitcoin because of its profit with the price fluctuation downtrend and uptrend. With this most grab the chance to buy back when price dump and hold because I believe by this holding btc all can get profit in the long term.

I think most people are holding Bitcoin including myself for the very obvious reason, we believe after all the rumors and speculations about bitcoin we strongly believe it will eventually increase its value in time. We are not saying we are a 100% sure but we have high hopes for Bitcoin to skyrocket in a few years.

It is speculation but at the same time, what can the price of bitcoin do except to go up? With news of countries like Japan accepting bitcoin and segwit activation, then there is nothing more for bitcoin but to go up, even if the price goes down from time to time the price will always recover so our speculation is based on what we see happening around the world and so it is not baseless.

I agree. People are holding bitcoin for the hope that its exchange value price will greatly increase after August 1st. Some are panic selling as of the moment but I have read several threads that bitcoin's price might really rise up compared to ots price at present and you might regret panic selling your bitcoins.

Well the price drop is really inevitable but it is only occurring at firsts, because people are getting scare of the impeding activation of Segwit 2x that they are not familiar with, and I think that is $3000 mark value Probably a typo error in your part, but yes I think it can achieve a price value of $3000 dollar and presumably that is the large price we can really get for now, and because of the impending August 1 the price will surely split but fear no more because after this event bitcoin will never be the same.

Bitcoin has shown it ALWAYS goes up in the long term so why are people reluctant to sell after price drops and volatility? Because obviously they know its just a matter of being a HODLer and eventually they will be in profit. Its the safest and easiest strategy and works for everyone.

Well I guess their are only two reasons of holding Bitcoin. One is the purpose of saving it as a person does not always spend Bitcoin in their daily transactions. Second is they are holding it because of the hope of Bitcoin growing in terms of price. Even if you save or hold Bitcoin in your wallet you are doing investing in that means. One of Bitcoin's greatest ability is its way to appreciate in value which a Fiat currency is slowly doing as it is controlled by a government.

you need to look at the bigger picture.
right now you are just looking at a short period of time where bitcoin price has came down a little. if you look at a couple of months you can see a rise from ~$880 to $2900 and right now it is sitting between $2200-$2400.

even if it falls more it will still be much much higher than the couple of months ago.

I agreed with that. I also hardly believe that holding such a golden opportunity getting profit in near future. I always suggested to hold your BTC in secure wallet as it will give us secure future. Present, Bitcoin is trying to break $3000 strong resistance if broken, then next target will be $4000.

It's pretty obvious that almost everyone who's holding their bitcoins are holding it because they want to earn money from the price increase of bitcoin. There are also people that found bitcoin as an excellent way to store value therefore they buy bitcoin and hold it. They might not be in here for the price increase but they are in here for the sake of their money. There are countries where their fiat currency is rather unstable so buying bitcoins pretty much saves them from the uncertainty of their own money.

Maybe they are waiting for something better opportunity to make their bitcoin is being double at the right time to exchange it. There is a risk but if you didn't try or gamble you're profit is stock up or not grow. Just go with the flow if you feel good about something.
