Factors that lead to Bitcoin price appreciation :
Short term :
1> by the potential fork coming in Nov, if you own a BTC you will own after the fork the same coin on the 2 chains.
2> we are in bubble mode, hence some speculator hold the coin and expect to be driven to 5k or 10k or 100k, who knows...
3> alt-coins, tokens and cryptocurrencies are booming as well, more than half of the investment in altcoins/token is through a first BTC investment, hence liquidity and price of BTC is improved by the alt-coin market.
4> BTC is the natural safe heaven in crypto-currency market. When one alt-coin is falling people will sell it and invest in BTC. This dampens the variations of BTC that is why BTC is so solid and downside is limited.
ETH is the only other coin so far that do have the very same advantages.

Its same with people holding gold they want to get some profit by invest some bitcoin, and maybe they hold bitxoin for sometimes they get good vision about crypto and trading cryptos

I think they're holding their bitcoin because they want to save their money for their future. They want to withdraw their money if needed for the sake of their money. |

Aren't you aware of what's happening in this industry? Bitcoins are the most successful investment in this period of time. The value pf bitcoins rises tremendously, it doubles its price this year and atill increasing. So when you invest a lot of money on bitcoins on the first month pf the year, you are probably a millionaire now because the value, as I said earlier, rises above the normal price of it. Until now it is still rises I do not know the reason behind but it is a good thing if you have some bitcoins in your wallets, instant money coming up. |

Well this is the one of the main fact but let me add some more facts which made people to hold their bitcoins. Some people just want more bitcoin, they did not yet effected by price or think of profit, they just gather bitcoin because they know that bitcoin is the future and they have to make for life without worrying from price fluctuation. Many people are holding their bitcoin just because to earn more and more money in the future, because the pricesare going very high day after day. That’s why they hold their bitcoin that when the prices become high they will sell their bitcoin and will make more income. I think this is very intelligent way of doing business. But it also holds risk/ so one should also think about this seriously. |

Yes, of course for more profit. When BTC born BTC value wasn't too good. Couple of years latter people saw btc value grow up slowly. Now at this moment 1 btc = 4600$. It's pretty cool. No altcoin compare btc. So people think buy some btc and hold it for couple of years and when it's bump hard they'll sell it. It's a lot of profit baby...  |

Many people who are bitcoin users tend to still hold on into their bitcoins because they are still hoping that after every dumps, there will be a pump that will follow. That is how price in the market goes. Dumps and pumps in bitcoin price rate is normal yet alarming. As we observe, every time bitcoin's price rate goes into a dump situation, we can see the result that bitcoin's price pump is much higher than the recent one. Many are still hoping that holding into their bitcoin is still a good choice to do because bitcoin's price rate is fast growing nowadays. |

Because it has great potential and is increasing in price in the long term, plain and simple.
Indeed bitcoin has huge potential to increase the price and the importance of the income we earn from bitcoin so it is good to hold your bitcoin for long time so that it will increase the profit people are believing in bitcoin that using bitcoin they can get rich and they can enter a new world of success as I am holding bitcoin because I know there is a chance of the increase in price. Holders are an important part of the bitcoin system and we need them, the current prices had been achieved because the supply is being deducted since holders keep buying more and storing the coins for the future. Besides that if you are new at bitcoin do some research at the bitcoin value at January 2017 and you will realize why several people does hold bitcoin.

Most of people here hold bitcoin for the future purposes, i believe on the same thing because i know bitcoin will give us more opportunity to grow in the future and we should hold bitcoin so we can fully enjoy the benefits of it tomorrow. People have made huge profits by simply holding their bitcoins and not by investing it anywhere as price keeps on increasing so if you buy now and hold for next few years then even you will be making good profits from it and we have already witnessed this and also there is no risk of loosing money in holding bitcoins. |

It's just a matter of confidence and trust. The rise and fall of the bitcoin price today is normal. I have monitored the price since last month and it fall below $4000 only once. Maybe there is inconsistency on the price of bitcoin but it never falled up so deep that will make the bitcoin holders worry. They believe that bitcoin will hit about $10000 at the end of the year and they hold into this prediction. Well it is rational to think positively than worry too much then ending up failing your goal. |

Absolutely right the price of 1 BTC was $1300 in April 2017 today it is trading at $4575 so the holders of bitcoins are earning huge profit. The demand is increasing day by day so the price will go high as new investors are engaging themselves in bitcoin market. You may have read different topics in which they disscuss 1 BTC= lamborghini etc so in my opinion the investors are sure that the price of bitcoin will go high therefore they invest in bitcoin and hold it. |

Gold is completely different with bitcoin and the only same thing about bitcoin and gold is, they are both investment but in the piece by piece they are completely different. Gold is an outdated asset and it is just a physical item that needs to be kept in a safe place to make money for us while bitcoin is an updated asset which we can use it to pay things online or if possible, offline and we can also use it to grow its value using the different ways in bitcoin. |

More like a strategic planning - of course you will not sell your btc lower than you bought it, if you're into trading. It's like a matter of studying the graphs of the prices of the btc. If it drops eventually it will rise. It's always like that. |
