I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.
Depends on how you will use it. If it's for payment, it's a currency. If you will invest or trade it, then we can say it's a gamble since you are placing your money or btc for that matter into a rise and fall game. But I see Bitcoin as an investment which will make my dreams come true... 😉

Bitcoin is a currency. Not gambling for cryptocurrency world's sake! What's wrong with these people? Well, maybe that's what they heard from others who were might engaged in gambling online using bitcoin as bet and prize.
Hopefully, someday, these people might be enlightened about what really a bitcoin is.

I agree because I categorize gambling and gaining an asset different, yes assets can devalue but over time Bitcoin has gained value over the long term, gambling you win or lose - mostly likely you lose since the odds are stacked against you.

Bitcoin is very far from gambling. Gambling is betting on something to get a value which is high and there is a risk of losing everything that you have betted. There are many types of betting, you can bet if a price will go high or low. From this you are risking something.

In bitcoin, you are only investing your time. But some websites let you gamble your bitcoin. These now depends on the person using the bitcoin. There are no risk earning bitcoins and this is the reason that bitcoin is far from gambling.

You are taking risk with your money investing in a not certified and acceptable currency. So it can be called as gambling. No doubt about it.

I think what people are poorly trying to say is that trading cryptos is gambling at some point. You cannot predict everything (i.e China Ban) so there is a huge luck factor playing around. But I agree, Bitcoin itself is not gambling.

How about we define the word 'gambling' to the context of casino. We will limit it to the significantly low chance of winning. Now compare it to investing to bitcoins. Yes the market value of BTC is unstable but you know you could wait before trading your bitcoins to fiat. They are similar in the way that they both face risks. But I rather face the risks of bitcoins than to the casino's.

I agree with your opinion, there is no element of gambling in bitcoin. maybe those who think gambling are the ones who incur losses when selling bitcoins not in good times and they are affected by market news.

Bitcoin is not gambling no. Actually if you wanted to gamble you could invest in Bitcoin but it wouldn't be gambling at all because you'd just be winning year after year.

I agree to this that bitcoin is not gambling. However, there is also gambling in bitcoin. People must have mistaken that fact, that’s why they think that bitcoin is gambling.

During the early days of bitcoin into usage, gambling industry contributed to the major circulation. This lead to the misunderstanding and people started to think that bitcoin is gambling. In one term it has gambling as well bitcoin gets related, both has the highest risk in it. Our responsibility is to make clear about the reality.

Bitcoin is not gambling (Period). But the truth is, it is associated with gambling because of the fact of loosing money. Well, your bitcoin may grow or loss depending on how you wisely handle your bitcoins. Bitcoin is just like other currency, it may pump or dump. Volatility is a geature of bitcoin which allow people to see it as gambling, bitcoin may show sudden change with its value. Bitcoin is not gambling, its more like an investment which shows return due time.

Well, it sure is, Bitcoin is not really gambling BUT it can be a tool for gambling. I many gambling sites are using Bitcoin as their medium of payment or prizes. Well losing profit in trading may seem to be gambling but that's a different story overall.

bitcoin is one of eccurency. it's not gambling. there are several reasons why I say like that:

1.bitcoin is an  exchange that is used to pay for daily needs such as  paying bills, shoping online and etc.
2.bitcoin is used for  investment for example you do selling  and buying transactions in the market. you get profit from the bitcoin price range in that market ..
so the main function of bitcoin is as an exchange. if you use it to play gambling on gambling website.it is called gambling. just a little opinion.  Grin
