Raskul,

What do you mean you short sell Namecoin and Bitcoin?  How's that possible?

as soon as my mined coins are mature, i sell them, a short sell (not holding long) - i guess it's just a turn of phrase. i use margin calls on stuff like oil and kazakhmys, but I don't mine oil or copper... just dabble with the shares in them

Well I frequently go on margin with Bitcoin or Litecoin just in the event of a buying opportunity (like today).

What are you guys talking about?  I'd live to buy on margin but nobody offers it.

And there's no way to go short BTC either.  If there is I'd like to know how.

Thanks.

I'm surprised Vlad that you don't know how to short BTC.   You can short BTC, buy/sell futures on BTC,  exchange hash rate for BTC, loan out USD to BTC speculators.... where have you been all these months?Huh!

A lot of IXC coins may actually be sitting in BTC-E wallets!  People may have not even bothered to withdraw them when they closed down IXC 2 years ago.
btcguild used to run an ixcoin pool before merge mining. when they shut it down they gave miners a week to withdraw the funds. after that they deleted the wallets. i'm sure there were a lot of coins in there then.

Well, deleting wallets will definitely cause a lot of coins to disappear.  Do you know when this happened and for how long was BTCGuild was merge mining iXcoin?

it was in the very early days of ixcoin, before merge mining was added to the coin. btcguild was the biggest ixcoin pool at the time.

I really doubt they just deleted those wallets.  At the time ixc was worth quite a bit in BTC so they probably sold those ixCoins out of people's accounts and then deleted the empty accounts.

At least they didn't hold those coins so there's no huge 10% holder to dump on any big rally we may have.

try plus500.com, they only require a securities percentage - but be careful of the terms (no closing a trade within 20mins - you lose your funds if you close within 20mins) and watch out for the margins, leaving it too wide and they'l automatically close your trade.

What's too wide?  Can you trade up to 50% of your account value?

Man, this was such an easy way to make money when Bitcoin sold off or when it way overshoots.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

(Thanks for nothing, Friction.) lol.

hmm, also bear in mind you are not actually buying stocks, or shares, or coins for that matter,it's just a speculative platform... once you fund the account, it's all pretty evident... BUT.... it's not actually a service I use anymore, but it's a good starter place for anyone looking to dabble in the markets... OH! and also... another mute point, they are the company who give backing to mt gox, which would probably be another reason to steer well clear.

pretty much, but they do cover the majority of stocks, every thing from oil (by the barrel) to indices.

Ouch.  lol.

I think Friction is waiting to do a dual release: When Luke has the Android wallet in a week or so I think that's when we'll see the windows wallet come out along with a full relaunch.

This would add more punch to the relaunch.

At least I hope this is the case.

I will of course, in the meantime, return Luke's 5 ixcoin test send as soon as I have 5 ixcoin mined in my mac wallet.

this is the address, to keep track

xu4EnGFDZsAuaWoFsHiyio6E5MLHDrixFH

and

xitzNeMNY5Bz57kSWGnd795ZBUfcQUM1zk

then as soon as the new windows wallet is released, i should be able to transfer those original 5 to my new mac wallet?
fingers crossed, the update doesn't wipe everything back to zero.

Isn't it gonna take you like 5 months to mine 5 iXcoins?  lol.

It doesn't look like out Luke wants those 5 coins so maybe you should give them to poor me.  Ha!

My wallet ID where you can send those 5 coins is:  xNeverEnoughXcoins600K.  lol.

Our Friction and Luke have been so quiet lately.  I hope that's a good sign and not a sudden loss of interest in this coin.

Cause up until last week friction was always on here and as passionate and gung-ho as me and suddenly he seems to have lost his excitement.

I hope everything is ok with Friction and I hope he's still just as excited about iXcoin as he has been.
