I am buying more and more, with each coin I mine from other denominations.

Having it on multi-pool, for better or worse, is a good thing overall. Even if it only limits coins that are available to sole-miners like myself, which makes us demand higher prices. It is going to happen anyways. I would rather it happens on a pool I mine at. I have no problem mining other easy coins, to trade-in for the purchase of bottlecaps. The price of BTC is irrelevant to my trades.

Just noticed I am getting mined POS rewards of unique ammounts now. Not sure how that happened, but now I see this...

0.008343
0.010212
0.009342
0.009233
0.008763
0.012333

as opposed to this...

0.00
0.01
0.00
0.00
0.01
0.01

This is what I was sort-of expecting to see, but it is odd in a way. I would later expect to see this from the POS blocks that were rewarded, and now coming back a second time... Thus not being 10, but now being 10.01 and 10.02 and 20.01 and 20.02, etc... I might be there now... not sure if it is at that point for my wallet yet... coins don't show the dates that they created the POS from, and being POS now, you can't tell which ones it took.

Again, not a complaint, just an observation. Floating point issue again?

I think September the 7th was the coded date for the new POS reward percentage to kick in. Everything seems to be running very smoothly for CAPs. Great work guys!!!

I'm getting the various returns from POS blocks as well. It could be a result of coin age. It's my understanding that coin age influences the return.

Anyone else having "missing payments" at Vern's pool (Bottlecapspool.com)? Last couple days I have noticed dozens of random "confirmed" blocks for which payments are missing. I know two others who are having same issue. Just curious if anyone else here is using that pool and missing payments?
I have messaged Vern and he is looking into it I believe

I have a lot of blocks for which the reward column is blank... Even for blocks for which I'm the finder. This isn't a new issue though and is one of the reasons I stopped mining there previously. I didn't realize the pool was back up so I decided to test it out again. My rewards were are about 20% under the estimated amount, but I don't know if those blank amounts are actually paid out or not. Please post when you know something more.

I too had seen this in past but also had times where I went days with every block being paid...but now, this time around (and only on Caps pool at moment that I'm talking about) there are MANY more missing payment spots..I did the math and every coin was accounted for with the spots showing payments thus meaning all those empty confirmed blocks are *missing* payments and for me personally its gone as high as 40% at times! Caps basically has a 99% efficiency with few stales and orphans so payments are typically very close to estimates (based on changing and current difficulties) but this pool is waaay off and only due to missing or withheld payments and other pools are not doing this. This is definitely a pool issue and not a coin or client issue. His pool IS getting the blocks it is showing and they DO CONFIRM UP to and past 120 blocks meaning his pool IS getting 10 coins for ALL  those blocks but then for many of them payments don't get split up amongst its miners properly...at this moment I can only speak for myself and two others but does appear to be widespread amongst many if not all miners in that pool..

I'm still not 100% in full understanding of the POS process but get the gyst. what i want to know if this is more or less primarily for when solo-mining? If i pool mine and transfer to my wallet and build up a balance..is the stake process the same or only when mining through my own wallet?
thanks for  the clarification

I was thinking a bit more about the whole Multiport thing and also did some math. I have typically known that on Multiport when a coin gets its turn and a huge amount of hashrate is put towards any given coin...yes, it will find a lot of blocks but the payout will never be as "profitable" as it says ..but i never really thought about how much different it could be...so with Caps..just did some quick math..(and was on the site for a couple of tests too) and it is quite a VAST DIFFERENCE...

For the example, lets just use some simple round numbers like 1000 Mh goes to it and you or I have 10MH (in rigs of personal mining power) towards it at it's given time..
Now keep in mind..Caps are supposed to be 1 Block a minute and 10 coins per.. but when difficulty drops and then there is this huge onslaught of hashpower..during this window more then the 1 a minute are found.. but in order for it to be anywhere near what the profitability and difficulty scale suggests it would have to find blocks at an "astronomical" rate..and it just can't do that..

so:

1000 MH pool and you have 10MH of that..for say 1 hour and we'll even say that the difficulty is down to an even 1 (which would mean in theory 8.38190 coins per hour per 1mh).. so that would be an incredible 83.819 coins per hour with the 10mh...and for the 1000MH pool that would be 8381.9coins in an hour! so doing the math (divide by 10), that would be 838 blocks needed to be found to get that sort of payout.. and thus meaning that a block would need to be found every 4.29 seconds...now as seen in Multipool...when on Multiport for 15-60mins you can see that usually at MOST it may be able to hit 7-8 blocks in any given minute but usually is quite high in the 4-6 range..so instead of the 1 a minute (that is should be for CAPs)...it goes to 1 every 15 seconds or 10 seconds...so lets say it found 5 a minute for the average (which is high)..that's 1 every 12 seconds and 300 for the hour...so 3000 coins...and your 10Mh is 1% of the pool so you end up with 30 coins!...a far cry from the 84 that it would suggest you would get...and these numbers are still high..in reality you might actually get 20-26 coins for the hour...oh and Caps likely never stays on the Multiport for a full hour anyways..

So with all this being said.. is it beneficial? The pool finds most of the blocks..so the other pools and solo miners don't get very many during this time (and that fact alone takes away from the total that Multipool can find during it's time too as some...even though only a few..still get found by the left over hashrate from the others pools and the solo'ers)..

Then this will create higher and more frequent difficulty swings.
So what's your take on this? I'm sure some of you have even used the Multipool recently since it added Caps last week.
What do you all think?

You wallet only has to be open, with a balance and unlocked to get POS blocks. It requires very little computing power. You could have your wallet closed for months then open and unlock it and you'll get a reward fairly fast because of the coin age. You do not need to be solo mining in the traditional sense.

To unlock at the debug console:

walletpassphrase yourpassword 99999999 true

Note: 99999999 is just a big number if you want it unlocked for a long period of time. This helps the network with your POS blocks

true - means its unlocked for minting only.

Sidenote: When I typed repairwallet at the debug console my total increased by 70 CAP. Interestingly when off on the wrong chain (in the distant past Smiley ) I produced 7 POS blocks. It seems my stake only reappeared when I repaired the wallet.

I dont understand stakes... I didnot encrypt wallet. Should I run wallet 24/7 to get the stakes or I can close it and run it every say 15 days to see results?

And Mullick I also get checkpoint too old error and wallet out of sync now...

If you didn't encrypt the wallet it should allow POS minting now. It's entirely a personal decision on keeping the wallet open or just opening every 15 days. I keep mine open and produce multiple POS blocks everyday. POS ensures the network continues in the future; but, I think it also helps support the network now.

Everyone gets the checkpoint error when a new checkpoint is due. I'm sure Mullick will have a new checkpoint release soon. It is of no significant concern and maybe less so now that the forking issues have been eliminated.

I'll mine solo and take my chances before using any of Vern's pools.

It's currently 5 percent based on the thread below. I think if more people learn about how fair the release of CAPS was that interest in the coin will grow.
