Cointerra is offering 20 500 GH/s chips for $57,000. A little steep but a 500 GH/s http://cointerra.com/shop/. This would be a prohibitive price I think. Still a much better price than their pre-built system. I imagine someone could design a pcb that would not have nearly as much overhead costs. I'd be curious what they price development or sample chips at, as just getting a chip to test with could be too expensive. I contacted them as I was considering doing a group buy and using my returned BTC from Avalon to buy some chips. They said that they are not doing sample chips, but will provide reference board designs much before the actual chips arrive.

I am currently waiting on BarnTech to pay me for the website overhaul. Hoping he pays me soon so I can snap up one of those remaining drillbit thumbs. Gonna take the BTC and invest it in just dice for a week and hopefully their is a board left for my ordering. ^_^
You can send payment for the website here BarnTech: 12x1G3g7vHgSZLGYwGxwoCA6b7vA138ZJ4
Greatly appreciated man. I'll confirm once I receive the payment!

Barntech and others - We have some good mentions here of power supplies. They seem to really vary in price from 60 bucks to almost 200 bucks. Some of them are modular (no cables connected, just the plug end - more money) and others are non modular (come with cables wired to box, LOTS of cables - cheaper). I prefer the former but need to know what cables to buy. I believe the Drillbit system can run off of a USB plug or And, if we are going to overclock the Drillbit system, do any of these power supplies work or do we need something special (e.g. more adjustments with Voltage, Amps, etc.) I will have the Drillbit 4 card system into 1 backplane (100 watts or so) AND a Burnin Mining system with 2X20 282Mhz chip unit. (Think that is around 200 watts or so). I'll probably get a 450 watt unit (90% efficiency) or higher. Thanks, IAS

I believe Drillbit will run off of molex connectors (see the renders on first page) one to each card?

Hi Barntech
im a little confused. I ordered 10 Thumbs, because in the OP stays XX avaiable. Even i dont get any comfirmation from you after paying.
Now i read this:
But just to make sure everything is clear. Nothing we have is "in stock". There are a few bits of wording on the new site that may be slightly misleading.
Are this thumbs in Stock? When they will be shipped?
Thx for the info
Hey. Looks like these questions have been sufficiently answered by others but just to be totally clear, no they're not in stock, we are waiting on chips. Estimated delivery is late october / early november. I did get your payment. Sorry i didn't send you a confirmation. Things have been pretty hectic lately. If you feel like you have made a purchase based on false information i will happily refund you. Let me know. Barntech

are you guys working on 28nm systems?
We have a few possibilities in the pipeline for our next project. Main priority of course is to get this one done first, but yes keep your eye out for upcoming Drillbit mega boards. Thinking seriously about Cointerra. What do you guys think? The main issue is that their stuff is huge so it won't be very well suited for small scale mining. Though there might be possibility to set up a few community based minifarms which everyone could chuck in for. Something like that. Anyways, in the meantime, Bitfurys baby. One thing at a time. Got something special for you any minute now. Barntech

The miniplane from an ATX power connector. The overall draw on a fully stacked miniplane won't be all that high. We're moving into testing phase this week and will publish details as we have them. There have been some good suggestions for PSUs on this thread. We may recommend one, but in the end it will be up to everyone how they want to do it, how many boards they will be needing to power etc. A $60 PSU should be fine though. More on that stuff soon. Cointerra may be good, but my goodness is it very expensive. THe way to go would be a farm ala LabRat's operation I feel.
Barntech have you heard any more re the actual GH per chip? The other Bitfury customers in August batch have been sent extra boards to make up the GH they ordered as chips are hashing lower than expected.
Thanks
