Don't worry everybody, this evening my 6 days of renting X-tra Gh will be over, and so as soon as my Shiftscore has dropped to some uninteresting value again, the blocks will be found within minutes. So really no reason to worry…..

Again 3 days. Incredible. People leaving I didn't expect such a quick exodus of hashing power. If the hash rate drops below 1,000 TH/s, this pool is in trouble. Let's get a few quick blocks and attract that hash back!

I'm liking how my score is going up, a couple more reds and then a nice flow of greens and i'll make some good BTC with my wimpy miners. Except this streak of reds seems to be following a $/ BTC downward trend as well. Could be my fault for buying that whole pack of blue underwear. Sorry guys . Of course I just got a 20port hub and a power brick to molex connector for extra cooling too. Cheers to everyone sticking with bitminter though. Hopefully loyalty will have its rewards.

It's just the recent luck; I follow a pool that has only 800-900T/h and they have tapped 5 coins in the last 3 days, with that said my equipment is mining on bitminter. Why? over the months I have been tracking both sites, bitminter pays me more then the mentioned above pool. I'll take the extra shares for now

We are not going anywhere. This and BTCGuild are the best two pools. Diversify, but stick with quality.

How does sticking with a slow pool that has quality help? I could take weeks at these block rates to get out your BTC. Why would i not go to a 50phash pool and help them hit blocks every 10-20 mins? All that means is I see payouts in a few hours if I stop mining there. on Minter it could take weeks to for them to hit enough blocks to pay me out. I agree we need minter to get more hashers but how? I would come back if the fees were free to match ghash. Fahlcor

Pool's aren't magic; they need attention and hardware, neither of which is free. If you're not paying a fee, you're paying for the service some other way.

Pool's aren't magic; they need attention and hardware, neither of which is free. If you're not paying a fee, you're paying for the service some other way. Few days back I mined on Minter for 25 hours. I saw the payout/block increasing but no blocks being hit. So I had done complete shifts and watched to see what happens. after nothing coming back at the end of that 25 hours I thought I would try ghash. Actually I had a split of miners some on ghash and some on minter to start. The ghash ones were paying in hours. and based on my calcs I was getting a good amount for the hash I was submitting. On minter i was watching the number climb and still no block. So I moved them all to ghash and they payout every ~12 mins on block from less than an hour ago. The pool says it is zero fee and I don't see them taking anything other then when i transfer out they took .0001 for fee. Then bitminter hit a block and I got .03btc of the equal .128 btc i got from ghash. so ghash has be making the same.128/day since and the bitminter hit another block and I got 0.00008200 with future of 0.03795709 at a current rate of 0.00008259/block and droppping. I have 5.5thash I would gladly bring back if I could see actually getting BTC here in the near future. But if the hash rates keep dropping then it will only get slower to make. Don't get me wrong. Bitminter is cool and I would bring my stuff here. I just wish i could see returns at the same pace as I see on the other pool. Without an increase in phashers that can't happen. I have been told it will all work out the same if you stick with it. But when I can have the btc in my wallet now for todays work or in a few weeks then I think it is an easy choice. Fahlcor

Fahlcor You can't extrapolate from 25 hours to several weeks. Most miners that have been around for a while check their income weekly to avoid variance-panic, which is what you've been hit with. Stick with a pool for a week or so, then compare what you've earned in a week to what you should have earned in a week. You'll be surprised how close to expected it will be. You certainly wont have to wait a couple of weeks for your pay.

I posted this before but I will again. When difficulty changes, figure out what your expected number of bitcoins should be for that period for the amount you are hashing. Do this for each pool you have miners pointed at. Then at the end of the difficulty period see how close you are to your expectation. Do not try and do this on a daily or weekly basis. It is far simpler to use an entire period. I can tell you what you will find (and I have enough money at risk to REALLY care about this answer). BitMinter and BTCGuild will be the closest to expectation that you will find. There is nothing free in this world, if you believe someone is giving you something for free you likely are still waiting for Josh at BFL to tell you how to invest your money.
EDIT: and I should add that my kids' miners are pointed at only ONE pool. Bitminter caromei, they still have not solved a block, but it will be at bitminter when they do.

ok I'll give it until the next difficulty change. No more.
If I don't average .128btc/day like i have at ghash I'm gone. I used Bitminter as my first hasher long time ago and I do believe that minter is the better pool. I'm back in the top 50.
I just hope we can get more hashers to get the blocks coming faster. I have not been doing BT that long with these new ants but I will take the wisdom and experience of the group at fae value and assume that anyone offering experience has compared the rest also.
I could be wrong about ghash not being free but it was nice to see the btc ticking into my wallet.
C'mon bitminters get up the hash!!!
