FYI. I sent an alert last night to the older clients. This was a high priority alert, as we only have 10 days until the fork. This caused safe mode for old clients.
I think Cryptsy is still on an old client, despite my ticket opened 5 days after 1.5 was released. For now it looks like deposits are disabled. They are either upgrading or still stuck in safe mode. Either way I will see what can be done to escalate the issue.

They don't know about update. Cryptsy has been messing up badly since December, they have 28 Wallets that have been offline for 20 days, and now including HBN, they have 32 wallets offline.

Their admins overeaten lazy cattle. I found them quite cooperative whenever I had a problem. Guess I was lucky! Anyway, since I reported this problem in yesterday as well, I requested them too, to check out their version and upgrade if necessary. Hope they can solve it before 17th.

When I started my wallet today it stopped responding. There is a line in the debug.log that is confusing me Error: Couldn't open socket for incoming connections (socket returned error 10047) Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks. Here is what I found WSAEAFNOSUPPORT 10047 Address family not supported by protocol family. An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used. All sockets are created with an associated address family (that is, AF_INET for Internet Protocols) and a generic protocol type (that is, SOCK_STREAM). This error is returned if an incorrect protocol is explicitly requested in the socket call, or if an address of the wrong family is used for a socket, for example, in sendto. EDIT: I deleted the conf file and wallet started as usual. Strange ...

As to the Cryptsy deposit issue, this is what they just mailed me:
"Thank you for the information you provided. HBN has been put offline for maintenance and upgrades. It will return soon and we ask for your patience as we work to bring it back online."
So I guess the problem will be solved in a couple of days or so.

Danger Posed at POS Coins by CryptoDouble Everyone says they are just a Ponzi Scheme, What if they are really a Trojan Horse. A Way to Kill POS Coins by mounting a 51% attack. A POS Community starts sending their coins to Cryptodouble, And keeps sending them back until they have 26% of a coin, CryptoDouble then buys up only another 26% and they then control 52% of the coins total amount, then they could hit the coin with a 51% attack and destroy the coin. Something all POS Communities should consider before sending POS coins to cryptodouble. Smarter move would be to only send them POW coins, if you are Gambling with your coins. FYI: If the Exchange Volumes don't increase , then they already have purchased 26% and are waiting for the communites to give them the rest.

Seems like a lot of work, time, and money to attack a coin. Plus what could they do? They can't double spend if a coin is using Auto Checkpoints. Other attacks are not that damaging, and in fact can be migrated by code.
Still though I wouldn't my coins anywhere I didn't feel comfortable with.

IMO its not about attacking just one POS coin, they are going after all of them in 1 shot, and it would only cost them a fraction of the market caps to succeed. Some Group with a large amount of funds that do not want the POS coins to succeed. They only need to destroy trust in the coin and they win.

Its not true. But I do not know how long it will be in maintenance mode? I suspect it shouldn't take much longer, maybe another day or two. But I am as much in the dark as you all are.

Sounds to good to be true to me, I assumed it was just a ponzi. I really doubt we have any worries there TBH.
