I don't know when the website was launched but around the time that wetsuit joined the forum and started promoting it in late 2013 the price of Bitcoin was around $1,000. The price did go back down to the low 200's. Going by my statistics, the average I earned per year is around $40. If I earned $40 in the first year this faucet was around, then my BTC would have only gone up at most 100x in value and I would have $4000 which is a long way from being a millionaire.
The OP of this thread was the official launch. BTC was actually below $200 at the time and originally it was "Win 1 BTC for free" but the 2013 bull run started within a few weeks so it got changed to win $200 in BTC. That's why the minimum prize was 1000 sats for a while.
Well, I just got my e-mail and tried the new feature, the wheel of fortune. It works as intended. My only issue with it, so to speak, is that I had to try three times to get past the hCaptcha. Usually, with the Recaptcha it doesn't take me that much unless I have a bad connection. And freebitcoin is already using Recaptcha for their faucet, so why even go for hCaptcha?
It's an experiment to see if hCaptcha is any better than reCaptcha. Many people complain that they have difficulty with reCaptcha because Google makes a risk assessment on you and then set a difficulty level. If they think you are a bot they make it almost impossible for a human to solve it. There is also the issue of Google farming free work from you. When they ask you to identify images you are providing data to improve their image recognition software, identify a street sign and you just improved Google Maps etc. The most important issue with reCaptcha that we have is it is now completely ineffective at preventing bots abusing the faucet. There are now many reCaptcha solving software programs available.But bots are also available for hCaptcha too there is easy for bots to solve any kind of captcha which though for humans. Even hCaptcha is much difficult to solve as compare with reCaptcha as per my personal experience with it. Anyway not bad to give try to that new service which is gaining popularity at the moment. |

So I noticed you paid out the US 2020 Presidental Election bets. But you know that the decision still has NOT been made, right? The date of the final decision on who won the presidental election is January 6th when the electoral college votes will be counted in congress.

Yep, they made it even there is still controversy about the result of that election. There is more high chance Biden will become next president he is in the majority now everything is in him favor. They know better what they did there is huge amount involve into that pool. |

I agree: there is a "high chance" for Biden becoming president, but still he isn't president, yet. They should have waited till at least January 6th (if not even till january 21st) with the payouts. EDIT: there is even a chance Nancy Pelosi might become the new president. EDIT 2: I just noticed the new congress will be sworn in on January 3rd - so Nancy Pelosi might not be "Speaker of the House" anymore. So whoever becomes "Speaker of the House" has a chance to become president on January 6th  |

Bitcoin is permissionless. You can withdraw to any Bitcoin address.
They should have waited till at least January 6th (if not even till january 21st) with the payouts.

When you made your bet you were betting on who will be elected president. It is very clear who that person was. There has already been enough benefit of the doubt given to Trump and delayed payouts long enough. There is no plausible scenario remaining where he is still in office after January 20th. Even if something happens to Biden, then it will be the Vice President-elect who will be sworn in. |

That's what it's supposed to give. The current base prize is 9 sats. 1000% bonus gives you 11x times the base prize, and 9x11=99. It's just a consequence of the high BTC price. High bitcoin price means lower base prize. |

Has freebitco.in ever considered implementing a whitelisted address feature? Something that users could opt into if they chose, that would only allow them to withdraw to a certain address that they have already approved.
They could add more addresses to their whitelist if they'd like, but there would be a cool down period (such as 72 hours) before they could withdraw to the new address, after they approved it using either email or 2FA verification.
2FA is a very nice security feature but I think a lot of users (myself included) would get even more peace of mind with whitelisted addresses.

There is reason to believe that you are banning users who only collect satoshi from the tap. You think that if the user does not replenish the balance with his own satoshi, then he does not bring you profit. And if he does not bring you profit, but on the contrary only collects from the tap, then you do not need such users and in order not to pay them anything, you simply ban them.
