There's no other coin that is able to defeat bitcoin in terms of long term holding. Eth is a candidate to be a subordinate of bitcoin and one of the most precious coins in the market.
Both are good but I'm only for bitcoin, I don't have much ETH so I'll say that it's going to be one of my best long term investment IRL.

I think there are still a lot of good altcoins for long-term investments like bitcoins, like ETHs that have projects with potentially good future prospects, such as ADA coins that carry third-generation blockchain technology, and many other potential coins for long-term investments long. it all depends on the capital we have in investing, if you have big capital it would be nice to invest in both |

Buying at the bottom and selling high is an age-old strategy, but it isn't always the wisest either. You always have to look at market trends because what looks like a steal by buying at the bottom isn't going to be as good of a deal if the market continues to go down. Buying when there's a sharp downturn isn't typically a good strategy, but if it works it works. Personally I think that there will be a relatively large chance that Ethereum and Bitcoin will both perform strongly, but it comes down to what kind of value Ethereum can make which makes it more appealing than Bitcoin if it wants to outperform it. So far the tokens being created off of the ETH chain show that it isn't slowing down in popularity. |

I don;t see any reason that will make me choose just one of them. I have invested in both Bitcoin and Ethereum and I am holding both of them. I would advice to hold both.

The first thing to do is not make your long-term investing decisions based in the price action for the last few days or weeks. The second thing to do is thoroughly research the pros and cons of both Bitcoin and Ethereum. Third, make up your mind on what you find promising for the long-term and where you see the most potential. Also remember that it is perfectly ok to have a mix of both, i.e. your portfolio can contain x% BTC, y% ETH and (100-x-y)% others. These values need to be determined by you, not someone on the forum. Do your homework!! I think the better to use in the long run is Bitcoin. because compared to Ethereum, Bitcoin's development rate is better and faster. so it would be very advantageous to have Ethereum in the future and make it a very capable coin to be dependable in the future. so I use Bitcoin for the long run and generate far greater profits in the future. |

I see these two coins are equally good because I know now that the price of ETH and BTC has decreased and so I chose Bitcoin because many people say if bitcoin prices will come back good because altcoin prices also fall following bitcoin |

Actually, my opinion is both coins are very good for long-term hold but if you have enough money to buy BTC then you should buy it. Or if you are not capable of buy BTC then buy ETH now and hold it for the long term. If you can buy and hold then I think you will get a good profit from them.

I think Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best coins to hold in the long run. I did not choose one because I know both coins are good and promising. And for me now is the right time to buy some Bitcoin and Ethereum for you to invest. Both Bitcoin and ETH are invaluable like gold in long term. Almost all the Bitcoin billionaires and ETH experts have been holding and trading for long term in both crypto currencies. Look at the Twin Brothers who sued Mark in 2010 and invested as much as 10 million dollars in Bitcoin. Ever since, they have been holding all the coins and never sold any. The boom in 2017 made them among few Bitcoin billionaires. |

Both were good pick for long term holding, if you go through the price increase that happened over time the truth gets confirmed. Because, both the assets grew in a mutual manner without much variation. So, till now investing upon both has yielded profit. Similar thing will happen in the future as well, maybe this year ethereum will mark a bigger growth comparatively.

Both Ethereum and Bitcoin are a good currency to put your investment. now with your confusion i understand that there are a lot of debates which one one is better than the other. But overall both currency has a different purpose, and both are great for investment. You can try to hodl by annual and take back what you've invested and leave your profit longer to play.

You can lurk in the forum and on these altcoin crypto's discussions and you'll see some discussion on what are the good coins to invest with for long term. I'll just leave some words here that don't believe easily if a stranger says that a coin will pump and wants you to buy it. |

I would have preferred long time invesent in Ethereum to Bitcoin, because the ICOs which uses the Ethereum smart contract are increasing everyday. Therefore if ICOs will continue this way in the future then it will positively influence the growth of Ethereum. However, the price of Ethereum has been noted to be affected by Bitcoin, this means huge decreaments in Bitcoin affects Ethereum. Nevertheless, irrespective of Bitcoin's effect on Ethereum, I believe that Ethereum will get a way out in the future as it gains more popularity and value. |

If you are long-term. So I don't think Bitcoin and Ethereum are suitable. I think NEO.ADA should be held for a long time. I think the two most valuable in the future.

Although bitcoin is currently the number one coin, but I'm optimistic that there is an opportunity for any coin to replace bitcoin someday, and of course by looking at the current condition of the most likely coin is ETH, and for now I divide my assets larger on ETH.
