I know, I was saying that you could also ask the marketing committee for funds. As far as I know, they have ~3mil allocated for projects like this.
I want to chip in on this question.
I've seen quite a few people here who felt uncomfortable with or opposed to spending community funds on these things.
That, combined with the need for speed, prompted me to accept being escrow and I proposed to start with purely private funding.
Our community has more than enough people to get to the needed 174,000 Nxt, I'm sure

The fund received 12,000 Nxt in 12 hours. This is great! Another 10,000 Nxt and the media campaign can be started.

If we decide to use some community funds at that point, or a bit later to bolster the fund some more, that's great, but I think the drive benefits more from having numerous people chipping in 100-250 Nxt than in us debating whether to dump 174,000 Nxt from the funds needed for marketing. Somehow that feels shallow and easy, turning a charity into a marketing show.
This way we get the best of both worlds: genuine charity from private people ánd marketing.
On a related note: The treasurers have been appointed a week ago. How are the committees coming? It's been quiet on that front.
