Oh, I also figured out a much easier way for people to be able to test this. When it is ready for testing, just post your DOGE address and I will send you some DOGE for testing along with a deposit address. I will set the withdrawal address to your DOGE address. I believe there is even an online DOGE wallet, so no need to install DOGE-qt. No need to compile any source code. Since the gateway uses the "sender" field in the AM to verify you are the owner of the NXT acct, I dont think it is so easy to spoof gateway_AM packets. Havent really bullet proofed that yet as we need to have basic functionality first.

https://www.dogevault.com/

I just setup a test wallet. If any Nxters here are like me, your Doge-QT client may be out of date (1.4) and needs upgraded to 1.5.2 and the blockchain needs re-indexed, updated etc. The online wallet is slick (nice enough for testing purposes, anyway).

What is the status of our discussion regarding:

- incentive for running a node vs. running a node and trying to forge and running a node and actually forge
- 51% attacks, TF, penalty
- a world without fees: spam prevention possible?

Thank you dear Mr. Stackeholder, what a generous move!!  Cheesy

This is so cool!

I think we would all appreciate if more big stakeholders did what 7017504655955743955 has done today, especially top 50 accounts which are all from 5 million to 50 million NXT.

To them to spread 100,000 like 7017504655955743955 did would be nothing but this would show even more greatness of this community and this project.

In the end, doing something like this would just raise the worth of NXT in a long run and paradoxically their main stash would be worth much more than this little part that they have possibly disbursed to this hard working community.

Just something to think about.

Once again BRAVO for 7017504655955743955!!

It seems everyone received that except me Sad

Announcing the first online NXT Wallet

https://wallet.mynxt.info

Features:

- Easy to use
- Access your NXT from anywhere
- Responsive layout: works in PC/Mac, Tablets and Phones
- Send/Receive NXT
- See your balance in NXT, USD and BTC

Is it safe?

We made it as secure as possible, keeping in mind that as we all know nothing in the online world can be claimed to be 100% secure.

If you want the details: All accounts are 50 random generated characters long, we use AES256 to encrypt each account address twice (once using a site-wide key and once using your master password). We also only accept SSL connections and hash all passwords (salted).

There have been discussions on the main NXT Bitcointalk thread around possibly making it even safer by doing the encryption/decryption of the account on the client side (as opposed to the server side) and we are looking into this.

Launch Promo

To make things more exciting, as a launch promotion we are giving away NXT in the following way:

AND THE WINNER IS....

Samx

Block 75000 ID was 2732552389739142879

Congratulations to Samx and thank you to everyone that created your online wallet and those that participated in the promo. I will deposit the 1000 NXT into the winner's account in the next couple of hours.

It would be nice if there was a multisend feature in the client. If I could line up all the addresses of hard working nxt'ers and one-click send a given amount, say 1000nxt (as in each would get 1000) I'd be very inclined to give more regular donations in just this way. Sitting at the computer and putting in 50 or how ever many transactions is a PITA.

If you're using GNU/Linux you can use this:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
# sndnxt.sh 20140223 -- send NXT to multiple addresses.
#
# Copyright 2014 The Free Software Foundation.
# Copying and distribution of this file, with or without
# modification, are permitted in any medium without royalty
# provided the copyright notice and this notice are preserved.
# This file is offered as-is, without any warranty.
#
if [ $# -ne 3 ]; then
echo "Usage: ${0##*/} 'passphrase' amount file_of_addresses"
  exit 1
fi
passphrase="$(perl -MURI::Escape -e 'print uri_escape($ARGV[0])' "$1")"; shift
amount=$1; shift
for nxtaddr in $( cat "$1" ); do
  echo "sending $amount to $nxtaddr"
  curl -s "http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=sendMoney&secretPhrase=$passphrase&recipient=$nxtaddr&amount=$amount&fee=1&deadline=1440" >> /dev/null
done

exit 0

Just tested it out and it seems to work.

Excellent. Will have a look. Would be nice to bookmark and assign identities to accounts within the client too. Then we could really get this donation party started! lol.

If you want i did this in php https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4697704#msg4697704

I didn't either... but I did receive a mysterious 50 NXT from 5439682670021714056 about 5 days ago. It's definitely appreciated! I'll probably use the 50 to buy some shares in the new Nxt mobile IPO, or to tip a project.

Ahhhh, every day is like Christmas morning in Nxt world... mysterious gifts, client updates... lots of shiny presents to unwrap. Cheesy

http://localhost:7876/update.html  wouldn't work for some reason on both Chrome and Firefox...  so I used  http://onlinemd5.com/.

you are supposed to calculate SHA256 , not shA1. Also update.html didn't work because worker_256.js was in the wrong folder (which the new 0.8.2e fixes)

I am getting B0A036C7D07F4583400BF3D218F635A78508E83B0E440DEB7B35BCA9A8933150...   WTF?!?!?     Huh

what tool did you use to check that with?

http://localhost:7876/update.html  wouldn't work for some reason on both Chrome and Firefox...  so I used  http://onlinemd5.com/.

you are supposed to calculate SHA256 , not shA1. Also update.html didn't work because worker_256.js was in the wrong folder (which the new 0.8.2e fixes)

Yes... there is an option to calculate SHA256 and I got the above.    Undecided

What do you get on that site?

oh, i only checked the title. i get the same as yours: B0A036C7D07F4583400BF3D218F635A78508E83B0E440DEB7B35BCA9A8933150

I checked with this site: https://defuse.ca/checksums.htm

and there i get the correct result.
