i'd like to say something, with my sardine stake in NXT.  I believe ricky is saying outloud what a lot of us that are thinking.
IF NXT is the future of Crypto, we have to step up to the plate.  Or the soccer net.  Or whatever the right sports metaphor is.
Most of all, we need people to come up with a way to have a guy with a cellphone to buy a candy bar with an app that is backed by NXT

On the complaints front, there are a lot of people complaining, (and i believe they rush to do that) without basically understanding the full spectrum of Nxt services. They probably joined the boat at the high peaks and when some time passed, and market started its bear move, they panicked, and panic is easier to vent with when you have a keyboard at hand. So i dont pay attention to them, patience is needed.

Whale dumps are always welcome, i believe. Are we all so full of Nxt, that we dont need no more? i still pickup some in every chance i get, to me Nxt still looks like a bargain with al those zeroes in front of its price...

On the marketing fund, i would like to be the candy bar client, more than any of you. Is there a merchant selling candies for Nxt?

Let me explain:
I have two jobs, i work at a small advertising office, and i also work as a mountain guide in Mt Olympus National Park, with these guys right here http://mountainspirit.gr/ & http://www.olympus-climbing.gr/?language=en

Mt Olympus is not mt Everest, but it is the highest peak in Greece, it is one of the most visited destinations in the country and it is home to the better part of greek history and myths. During the May-August season, the mountain is visited by more than 500.000 visitors, with the summit being approached by an average of 50.000 people, according to data from the Hellenic Mountaineering & Climbing Federation.

There are 2 mountain refuges above the alpine zone, "Spilios Apostolides" & "Christos Kakkalos" and one of them is  also web enabled, with high speed mob internet sponsored by one of the three major mobile phone providers in Greece.

I would love (and i know all of you guys want the same) to buy a candy, or a pizza, or anything trivial from up there. I would be willing to even carry my laptop all the way up, if there is not a safe mobile client by then. I am not asking for your moneyz or anything, i can cover my expenses and enjoy it too much.

What i am asking is, do you think we could create some buzz with something like that?
Buying stuff from remote places? Trading on AE like a boss, in my tent at 2750m?

Or, now with bitcoin going to everest and space, stunts like that cant draw enough attention?

Thanks
-Fo-

I thought CfB and CIYAM are working on TF to make it 100% deployed, aren't they?

I am not working on TF at all - but I do think that CfB is going to proceed with it as originally planned.

Aye, I became tired of all these useless discussions (what and how to do) and going to stick to the initial plan. I'll quit a little bit later (not on the 3rd of April), coz I can't complete all planned tasks by that date.

@CfB Just curious. What will you be working on after that?
I am assuming there are funds to support further development so why not keep hiring you?

Good point!! Are there any people working on NXT who don't have a big enough stake to stay motivated? If there are we need to help them get a big stake. Maybe give them an option to buy in at a fixed price down the track.

I would give the option to James.

Agreed! I hope James has a big  juicy stake, NXT definitely needs his energy and vision. What about all the people on the committees, and guys like rickyjames? There are lots of others people too.

If some key people don't have a big enough stake, and they don't have enough spare cash at the moment to buy in big now, then the community needs to address that. Buy in options is a possibility

Hey guys, please test http://nxtra.org/nxt-client-trustless

It will replace http://nxtra.org/nxt-client if all is found to be functioning.

This new version no longer submits your password to the server, signing is done locally.

Let me know if you find any errors. (Sending messages, sending nxt, anything that is a form basically).

James, there's more issues than nodecoin and that's what's being referenced here.  Salsa and others are pushing to rent out space in parallel blockchains to store data/files/entire websites and this has nothing to do with nodecoin and everything to do with creating bloated blockchains.

dude who cares if parallel blockchains are bloated. if you dont like it than dont run them! Cheesy

I don't believe that approach would increase the outside world's confidence in NXT as a reliable 2.0 financial services cryptocurrency.

I can't forge - just get: "secretPhrase" not specified error.

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

Oh ricky, just to remind you: my guy is still coding his webshop modules for Nxt.
I had no news, but the first module should be ready this week Smiley
Will be for woocommerce in WP.

There are still people working on the 1.0 stuff, even though I also think it won't be the future, but it ís good for the "now".

It depends on client side configuration.

This would decrease the need to have a VPS, because 2 nodes behind a NAT could directly communicate with each other.

Oh yeah, thanks, need to make an exception for forging, as far as I know this DOES require you send your password to the server.. (Because it needs to be able to sign the generated block).

its really starting to look like people loosing faith in nxt now rather then whales dumping... :/ and some of the conversations in here on top its sorta worrisome..
I just sold half my other cryptos at a bit of a loss and bought more NXT. I am not planning on selling any NXT for at least the next two years. By then I may be able to work full time on NXT or retire.
Good strategy! Nxt has a big community and is a great concept. It will survive over a lot of altcoins! HODL!  Grin

I don't believe that approach would increase the outside world's confidence in NXT as a reliable 2.0 financial services cryptocurrency.

Why is that? With many parallel chains, people only secure the chains they are most interested in (aka, the most profitable). And since even a raspi can handle many 10-100 TPS chains easily (depending on bandwidth), no chain should ever go unsupported. With parallel chains, you don't have to take on the bloat of the entire network, only the chains you support. This is a much more effective approach than simply trying to bruteforce a single chain to 1000 TPS as soon as possible.
