For the eMule quote bounty, who is going to own up to trying "Your mother is a l*sbian" as their first guess?! Come on, don't be shy! I would estimate at least 75% of you did

Yes but not 500 NXT but 500 piCoins. You misunderstood it. 2014/03/15 We just got TWO million piCoins from piCoin Dev team. We decide to do a grant giveaway. Everyone who deposits any amount of BTC or NXT will get 500 piCoins instantly. You will get 1000 piCoins if you deposit both BTC and NXT. The giveaway is from now(2014/03/15) to the end of March(2014/03/31).

Regarding pandaisftw's document: ( https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1FsyumJLmQ9ckLNkHlmW1oPRGOoK3oAg_pVjFz3s0fNw/edit#slide=id.g1ce2334a0_00 ) point 1: I don't like anyone being able to create the same name. It will lead to confusion. However, it's likely that this solution will be implemented in the core anyway. point 2: if you can just choose whichever company name you want, scammers would be able to take advantage of this. An alias contents can be updated easily. This also means that both the name and company name can be updated, again leading to confusion. Images may be useful, have to have some system to flag images though.. Same with audio/video. Perhaps it would just be easier to supply a URL. Thanks for taking the time to look at this Wesleyh, I know you're busy Still catching up to the thread, sorry if this has already been discussed: About point 2, and clarification of my idea: 1) *Aliases* names themselves cannot be changed (ie. they can be squatted). Thus, if I register the alias "123Industries", and we use <AliasIssuer=123Industries> tag on the asset, there is no way the issuer can change his or her company name. The URI field of this alias can hold an URL, but then the issuer should include an alias token field if he plans to do so. Additionally, the account # registering the alias must be the same as the account # issuing the asset, otherwise the client should reject the asset as a phony. 2) Asset name tags cannot be changed. I updated my doc around 2 weeks ago signifying this change. <AssetName=Shoes> is simply a string the issuer includes in his asset description. I agree with you that this can simply be added to the core. There is not much reason to actually restrict asset names to being unique *as long as you can identify the seller* (which the 1) unique company name alias helps with). Nike may have an asset called "Hiking Boots" and Ralph Lauren could have an asset called "Hiking Boots" as well. Despite being two different products under the same asset name, you would not be confused which asset is which, because you know the sellers. Yes, images/audio/video do open up a whole new can of worms. We will have to look into ways to filter out content as explicit if we do decide to go down this path (of course, all done client-side, and the user has a choice if he wants to filter or not). I don't know how Google or Bing do this, but if someone knows, that'd be great! Imagine the NXT AE being able to show-case games much like the Steam Store does. You can have screen shots, gameplay videos, reviews, etc. right on the asset - huge potential! Or a service that sells DVDs, you can see the trailer of the movie right there in the AE. If filtering (either through user flagging, algo, etc.) is not possible or effective, then yes, simply a URL would probably suffice (although, definitely not as slick!). As for the categorizing, I assume you agree with this? It's much like how twitter users use hashtags to index their tweets so algos can find their tweets easily. Applying this to the AE, this will allow a gold bar asset seller to categorize his asset, and streamline searches on the client. So if a user searches gold bars, his asset will be easily found even if the user did not explicitly search his asset's name. Pandaisftw Ok, I like it now. I could probably implement this like jl777 says: Just saw a really good idea on XCP forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.msg5773807#msg5773807It is about asset naming and it is very simple and I think quite effective. Basically once you own an Asset Name, then you can create a subasset for a much lower fee. this essentially allows branding of the root name and then people will know that anything that starts with that is from the same issuer So Anon gets his Anon136 asset name. Now he can issue: Anon136.silver1oz Anon136.silvershot Anon136.silveretc It still has a squatting issue with it, but now the squatters have to squat on the names of the issuers, not the target asset. This is far riskier as if a specific name is taken, there are always others that can be used. Unlike "BTC", which is unique. If we are going to change the NXTcore for asset names, this one might be worth doing. James

Yes of course some services like AM it can indexed per bytes but other can be indexed per amount transacted
all AE like Cryptsy, BTC, Bitstamp use % amount transacted We're going to reinvent the wheel? why not?
what this clear that will be a lot more economical to maintain than BTC network or clones
NXT AE, is, by definition, 'reinventing the wheel'. You have to have a better reason than, 'thats the way its always been done'. The other argument is basing everything on size in the blockchain. Please argue your reason of % based with its own merits, or argue reasons against our suggestion. an issue is how the fee is charged must be distributed the cost of maintaining stimulated the "green, secure and decentralized network" for example Nxt% Fee per current transactions Alias Fee services (For example per bytes) Nxt% Fee per AE transactions and so on .... How The network is worth to maintain? How many minimum nodes are needed? How much electricity does it cost? How many minimum transactions contemplated with this you can calculate total nxt minimum expected and another issue is how the fee is partitioneda transactions's fee should be tied to its byte size on the blockchain ok its a posible solution but you need to do this minimum operation Total number of bytes expected divided by total nxt minimum expected by feesthen you can know nxt per byte aplicableI do not know if this solution is the best but it can probably work. sharing may be quite right

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.msg3335322#msg3335322Can someone enlighten me? Why is the base target below 100% if ALL coins are forging, but they are concentrated in 10 accounts? How can I calculate that myself? Also, does that mean, that bigger accounts, do indeed have a higher than X/1.000.000.000 chance in forging a block?
