Thanks. If you think I'm the lowest common denominator intellectually, then well, I hope you're financially diversified.
Haha, good post It is true that we need to make a failsafe client for really computer-retarded persons. But a client like Offspring is close to that. Can't make much wrong with it! New users are going to go to http://www.nxtcrypto.org/ and download the default NRS server -- Most won't even know "Offspring" exists. The build-in client (that was supposed to be temporary) that comes with NRS server needs to be replaced. This will solve most password related user errors. Totally agree. When introducing friends or fellow pokerplayers to NXT I always send them to nxtclient.org and stell them to now install the main client, because it is too much hassle to set it up. But I am sure we will figure out a solution to that soon.

Correct, because they won't realize the OP is leading them to an inferior client that lacks very basic refinements.

If you download the offspring client on nxtclient.org, I can send you a couple of NXT to play around a bit. Send some messages (even encrypted) , register an alias or send NXT. Also you could check out the NXT testnet that runs the asset exchange on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/ . Register an account and post here and we will send you some test nxt. Nxt is really awesome, if you give it a try!

The clients interact with it. Anyone can write any type of client (like Offspring with wallet.dat as option) that interacts with NRS server. NRS comes with it's own (very basic) javascript client, but it was always intended to be temporary.

If there was a room on the level of a proven regular poker room, UI wise (Pokerstars, iPoker, or at least 888-Pacific Poker) then I would definitely play there.

One of the downsides is the lack of traffic. Other than that, they try hard to ímprove, but they don't have a lot of funding! Since FPDB added SWC, playing with a HUD is much more preferrable.

Infiniti poker tried, but it also lacks traffic. (don't think they had HUDs available though) Anyways, a great looking and fast UI is a must. + traffic + HUD

Half a year back, I made a movement to let stars know that they should accept BTC. They said that they are even trying it out at the moment (That was way back in september 2013) but since then no move has been made. I guess they don't think it will be viable, or that they would become a BTC exchange that way essentially. Hope they just introduce BTC and some BTC tables, would be awesome for the economy of cryptos.

More than enough. If I give the banker a deposit slip without an account number, what happens? Does she send the dollars to her own account? Pretty basic logic check I would think. People sending their next coins to a null account ARE partly to blame, but this lack of refinement in a crypto client that claims to be btc 2.0 is a huge turn off. Should have been fixed months ago, yet the client is still proudly displayed on the OP(which is itself a 2.0). Unimpressed.

Altough, Stars is weird as far as the "dealer" is concerned. Something fishy is going on there. Now if there was a NXT poker on this level

This analogy doesnt work because you entered an account number and it was indeed valid. I Knie this Situation sucks and there would be ways to prevent that, but double checking on the cunsumer end would have also saved you.

I could have looked up block explorer and made sure that the account number on my screen was not active since last november. Yeah, there are lots of things I could have done but didn't. Now how many people that are new to crypto even know what a block explorer is? This coin will not be taken seriously as a competitor to btc if it can't get it's sh1t together after months.

Your password is what you use to access your bank account, but your account # is what's used to identify your account and send money, seems pretty easy to understand to me, but I guess I haven't been in crypto as long as you. Anyway, we will learn from your mistake and make it clear to other newbies.

No, that wasn't what i meant. When i create a NXT account i use keepass, and I note the Account number. Then i log out and log in again with the password, to check if the password works. Then when I want to receive NXT I just use the account number i wrote down.

Good luck. Too bad it wasn't made clear previously. Perhaps the owner of that null account wouldn't have received so many unintended donations.
Unbelievable that this hasn't been addressed after months. This is a crypto with a cap of 61,780BTC or nearly $28m.

Why don't you accept some coins and try out some of the cool features, that NO other coin has?
