Something went wrong After a windows update restart, my desktop pc started mining and founded 3 blocks. I couldn't believe when I saw it. But i also founded that they were unconfirmed and the block count stuck at 811. So I went to %appdata%/memorytcoin and deleted everything except wallet.dat , downloaded again the binaries and started them. The same process I made a few times to get everything in order. I left the PC reloading the blockchain and now its done, but my wallet is empty. Did I made it wrong? Has my wallet.dat been overwritten by not moving to another folder? I thought that its not necessary Maybe it's not overwritten, it's still blocked as it was yesterday with a password and so on, but then, where are the 3 blocks I've seen this morning? You can't overwrite the wallet that way. You where mining these block on a wrong fork, that's why you had 3 blocks just by yourself. They are not valid, that's why it doesn't appear any more. The fork I was using was from 18th December. So really I didn't lost 3 blocks, did I? That makes me fell better... I've been the whole day thinking I'm the luckiest man in the world and then.... FAIL. same as you,it sucks huh?

I really dont know where all your problems come from =/
I started 3 days ago with the version 0.8.54 on 4 dedicated servers with Intel Xeon E5-1650 3.50GHz which gets 3.96 hpm each and I found 7 blocks so far without a single crash or get stucked on a block.
Everything wents fine here.
Balance: 1680 MMC =)
Edit: Perhaps it runs better with more than 8 connections. My clients got more than 40 connections each. I just opend the firewall for the Port 1968.
I'm glad to hear it's working well for you. The problems seemed to be highly dependent on the operating system used. Anyway, I think we've got a lot of the issues addressed now and expecting smoother sailing from here on. the problem is Linux or Windows?

0.01 BTC If one MMC = 10 PTS and 10 PTS = 0.02 BTC then one MMC = 0.2 BTC Again: if only... Just because PTS owners at block 32000 got awarded 1 MMC per 10 PTS doesn't necessarily mean that 1 MMC = 10 PTS. The market decides the value. Right now there isn't a market, so people interested in getting in on MMC should start making offers. Clearly no one is willing to pay 0.2 BTC / MMC, or even 0.01 BTC / MMC for that matter.

My wallet has said it is calculating hash rate for mining for 2~ hours now. Does this indicate that it is not currently mining?

Right now there isn't a market, so people interested in getting in on MMC should start making offers. Clearly no one is willing to pay 0.2 BTC / MMC, or even 0.01 BTC / MMC for that matter. Exactly. One thing Protoshares have going for them is they are effectively a way to premine other coins as they are released (this is an oversimplification, but it's more or less accurate). Since MemoryCoin is one of those spinoffs, it doesn't have that inherent potential future value that Protoshares has. I expect the market to start near .001 BTC or so, right about where the spreadsheet has it, in fact, and gradually increase alongside difficulty (but it will be pegged to the actual cost of mining, not the exchange rate into Bitcoin - as such, if Bitcoin rises dramatically against fiat faster than Memorycoin difficulty adjustments, the price of Memorycoin should drop against Bitcoin, but stay relatively near the same fiat price). If Memorycoin ever gets traction is a viable altcoin, then you'll start to see it detach from fiat and move more with Bitcoin or Litecoin.

23696 divided by your hpm is how many minutes you have to wait for a block on average right now.

If you don't mine with it, it's stable. FaSan

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 and the updated source from yesterday has been very stable for me. Before the update the daemon would crash after ~25 minutes of running. After the update I have been running for over 24 hours without a problem.

After the update I have been running for over 24 hours without a problem. Yes, they updated the source to fix the memory leak with linux. Using Ubuntu 12.04. Before, client crashed every hour. Now, I'm going strong with 5+ hour uptime.
