So :

First there is a 7.3% premine.
Then, 6% more go to the 6 Memorycoin officers.
(1% each. Every officer get 2.8 coin/block, just by being officer)

That's a lot of coins who are not mined by the network/people.

No...Unless I misunderstood what you said. There is only 7.3% pre-mine but it goes to owners of either the original MemoryCoin 1.0, or at a 10 PTS to 1 MMC ratio for ProtoShares.

There is a total premine of ~7.3% distributed over a wide range of addresses, comprised of two parts,
~6.2% - MemoryCoin Beta
All balances from the original MemoryCoin as at block 8820 are transferred into the new blockchain at Block 1. MemoryCoin 2.0 has 10 million coins so there is a significant dilution. This dilution does not apply to MCF supporters. You can import your balance by using your old wallet with the new blockchain.

~1.12% - ProtoShares Holders
ProtoShares owners as at Block 32000 will receive a distribution at a rate of 1 MMC for each 10PTS. With around 1 Million PTS issued, there will be 100,000MMC distributed in this way, and PTS owners will cumulatively have a 1% stake in MemoryCoin at launch.  You can import your balance by using your ProtoShares wallet with MemoryCoin. It is recommend that you transfer your balance to a fresh MemoryCoin wallet after import.

Yep what you have quoted above is the premine.  Then additionally 6% of all new minted coin goes to the the 6 officers, 1% each.  I think that's what bidji is saying, which is what I understood to be the case too.

Actually I'm not clear exactly what % goes to the officers.  I think it's only 1%.... 1/5th of a block reward every 20 blocks...

Is this right? -
I save my current wallet, drop my old MemoryCoin wallet into the folder with the current blockchain, and start the coin again. Then what, how do I combine the two wallets?

I have a block explorer up for MemoryCoin. It can be found here:

http://www.chainbrowser.com/memorycoin/

Have a few more cosmetic things to add, but thought it would be useful for now.

Does the search address function works ?
i can't get it working or there is something wrong?
thank you.

So in short, here the mistakes with this coin

1. PREMINE
2. Difficulty to high
3. Block Time vs. Reward
4. No pools or proper implementation of miner.

in other words; the coin was 100 times better if the block time was faster, there was a slow raising reward system, proper distribution for protoshare holders (POS?), no premine for the developers.

THIS COIN IS MADE ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE DEVELOPERS WALLET!!

That's a lot of coins who are not mined by the network/people.
Do they actually get 2.8 MMC every time a block is found?
Isn't it taken out of the premine?

Also, something about this whole system seems shady.
There was a vote, but only people holding previous memory coins could vote?
Also two of the people got two positions... so they get twice the number of coins for doing nothing?

With people valueing these coins at .02 or .03 BTC each, these folks get 200,000 MMC each, with a value of 4000-6000 BTC....

Wait what?

Does the memorycoin client download the PTS blockchain in order to do this? Hoping that someone can please explain how this works. Thanks Smiley

ps: Have been mining 24 hours ~25hps using cloud but no luck. If anyone can donate a few please send to: MFf4sd1y8cPo85tDYNnGhJ1jyx4NTvvTYW

Before release he gathered all the values of all the PTS addresses(public keys) at block 32000. These were then all honored in the genesis block of MMC. So basically you have the private key to those public keys listed in the MMC genesis block. Just import the keys from your PTS stash, and ta da MMC gives your coins.

1. no, putting coins in the genesis block is not premine... its even worse.
2. talking about botnets "superman", coins get take over by botnets without opensourcing the private miners/pools and making the mining to difficult for the average users
3. Block time vs Reward has nothing to do with botnets. It would make the coin more spread for normal users, now only "power bot users" have profit (like protoshares)
4. If i want to cluster mine this coin i don't need a pool, i set them up myself. Only problem with memorycoin is that there is no opensource stratum miner "yet"

it's obvious this coin is made with purpose to take benefit of the developers "coding skills"

bitcoind: db/version_set.cc:715: leveldb::VersionSet::~VersionSet(): Assertion `dummy_versions_.next_ == &dummy_versions_'

Temporary "solution"

1. Copy ~/.memorycoin/wallet.dat to safe place
2. Goto win Sad laptop/desktop and install http://www.memorycoin.org/downloads/memorycoin.zip (memorycoin-qt for win)
3. Run memorycoin-qt (win) and wait "normal" run
4. Shutdown/exit memorycoin-qt (win)
5. Copy wallet.dat (from linux server) to win via ssh/ftp/etc
6. Move wallet.dat to C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\MemoryCoin
7. Run memorycoin-qt (win) and wait
9. See their coins
10. cp ~/.memorycoin/memorycoin.conf /tmp
11. rm -rf ~/.memorycoin/ (!!! it's delete old setup)
12. ./bitcoind
13. cp /tmp/memorycoin.conf ~/.memorycoin/memorycoin.conf
14. ./bitcoind --daemon
15. Sent money from win to new linux account (optional)
16. Profit ! Smiley

With the voting system, this seems to be the case.
Its designed in such a way that, the original premine doesn't go to the dev, but hes paid out of it?

If he's elected... it's up to the holders to decide who the officers are... this has already been said.
