According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Tried to run a 13 GH/s ASICMINER blade on deepbit for old time's sake. Managed to submit 23 shares before my IP was banned for DDOS?Huh

The blade had already been decommissioned and was destined for the scrap heap, but apparently it was still too powerful for deepbit.

I had 23Ghs fail over from BTC Guild without being banned.

Hmmm ... might have something to do with the miner in the blade firmware not playing nice with its getwork requests.

Well I accidently clicked on instant payout on my old DeepBit account and it sent 0.22 bitcoins to an old and lost wallet address, there goes $200, gone forever, most likely (though according the link I followed it hasn't got there yet, but I doubt deepbit admins are active enough now to stop the payment).

I then have 0.0044 BTC left over after that, but obviously can't transfer it :|

RIP my money.

How, exactly, would an admin stop a payment that has been made?

The point I'm making is it hasn't been made yet since the wallet hasn't received the bitcoins (and hasn't for the last few hours since it happened)

I've been trying to get a payment out of deepbit for about a week now on and off and haven't had any luck.  I figure since it sounds like other people are having trouble getting payments out that I would report my issue as well Sad

Bitcoin doesn't works this way. In most cases a transaction can't be cancelled after being broadcast already, even if you didn't received it with your wallet.

So is the pool speed really 171 Gh/s?

Yet https://blockchain.info/pools shows it as 1%

But there is an acknowledgement of the problem and that he is working on it.  Which is probably being slowed with questions like, is the pools speed really that low right now? while there are connectivity problems.
