Payments don't work for me either. Site says that payment is sent, but I can repeat that every 2 minutes and nothing actually happens.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Gah, I was kinda hoping the issue was on my end somehow.  Good to know I'm not alone here.

That's strange, indeed.
Please PM me your "ping" output for both pit.deepbit.net and deepbit.net hosts.
The second one possibly won't answer to pings but I want to see which IP it will be resolved to.

I see the website only using pit.deepbit.net, as for now.

Ok, looks like I see what happened. I hope this will help now.

BTW, if your mining failed today, then you are possibly using deepbit.net instead of pit.deepbit.net

pit.deepbit.net is dropping connections
What do you mean and how exactly do you see that ?
I don't see any noticeable drops of total hashrate or user numbers in last hours.

miners switch to f2.deepbit.net and stop mining

EDIT
they have stayed connected for a couple hrs now
after dropping out all last night and earlier today

What am I missing with regards to the rewards?

It appears I am still getting rewards based on 50 BTC instead of 25 BTC. I know, why complain, but it seems wrong.

Shouldn't my reward be roughly half at like 0.003ish, instead of the 0.007ish my stats page lists?
