Read the AMA, some interesting stuff in there. Micon did pretty much duck the question regarding reducing the krill freerolls.
They're not as reduced as you might think. They're less frequent, but considering the vast increases in the value of Bitcoin, are either almost as good or possibly even better than the previous krillroll setup. I do think there should probably be more krillrolls for lower krill players just because people like to play poker, but I think the main issue there is the shitty Briggs software can't deal with 500+ players. 1) IMO the krillrolls are dialed in to start 2014. Casual players are able to get into the 1.25k and the 5k with low stakes and a few months of playing. The 25k, 50k and now 150k are for our pounders or the casual players that have been around for a long time. These are free coins given to our frequent players. The old system was waaaaaay too generous and I feel it's balanced now. There is zero incentive for the avg player that comprise the site and its almost a slap in face to have 150krill with 5k in chipsl given to a few players. The 5 bitcoin 150k krill is taking away too much from the masses for the few and should be changed.
1) By this logic, if we removed the 150k krill-roll you would be happier? it would no longer be a slap in the face? IMO the 5 coin 150k krillroll cannot take anything away from the masses - because it's not aimed at the masses, and uses no other resources that would usually be spewed to the masses. It is specifically for our frequent players that are huge krill-earners. If you are personally not a huge krill-earner that's ok too - there is a krillroll at every level. Think about when pokerstars introduced "Supernova Elite" - I remember being a massive multitabler of MTTs at the time, I looked at the promotion and it's value then did the calculation to see how many I would have to earn each week, and it was borderline impossible for me. While it seems like a fun personal challenge, I doubt I will ever dedicate a year of my life to going after that - it just wasn't for me - but that didn't stop me from taking advantage of the many other smaller promotions for playing. I never felt like 'Stars offering SNE was anything but a challenge to the top volume players. IMO think of the 150k krillroll the same way. Maybe slap in the face was a little strong . Im saying all those huge krillas had a huge advantage in starting when bitcoin was 5 dollars as opposed to bitcoin being over 800 dollars. They are literally freerolling a huge advantage by getting 5k chip freeroll for krilling when bitcoin was 5 dollars usd. I have Krilled 30k krill since march or 10 months and that is pretty substantial considering the cost of bitcoin. I would be happier if the 5k given to a small percentage of playe pool that had a huge advantage over those krilling now because of price of bitcoin was leveled out by having a 40k krill and 70k krill so players would have more incentive to rake. Good luck raking from 50k for a player like me that started in March of last year to the next level which is 150k. The pokerstars supernova elite is a bad analogy to seals rake because 1 dollar was always 1 dollar. The huge krillas you speak of were raking at 5 dollars a bitcoin as opposed to 800 dollars bitcoin now thats a humongously obscene advantage and hardly a level playing field and they get 5k chip krillroll? how is that fair? The 150k krill is not the huge krill earners because they earned that krill when bitcoin was 5 dollars not the 800 it is today and that makes it a ridiculously uneven playing field. Its up to the site how to reward dedicated raking players in the end . Rewarding those that raked at 5 dollars a bitcoin more heavily while basically not rewarding those raking at todays bitcoin prices at the same rate seems unfair to me.

I've been playing at seals for 2 weeks now.
some suggestions:
in the tourney lobby you should have sng ready to start as soon as it fills up. when i log on i go str8 to tourney lobby, no one goes to sng section.
and have low buy in omaha-hi and/h/l ring games. get new players to come in and see what omaha is all about.
i have more but my add is kicking in...

Dude, what are you talking about? I paid dozens of bitcoins in rake, and those coins are now worth tens of thousands of dollars. I gave seals tons of action when the player base was way lower. There are several other players like me who would literally build ring games out of nothing and played in tough spots constantly just because we liked the site and the whole concept of bitcoin poker. 150 Krill freeroll is our just due. The amount you can win in your lower tier freerolls is likely proportional to the amount of coin you paid in rake. Dont hate man, be glad we helped make seals a success and be happy you can play poker online. Half the time I totally space on the big freeroll anyway, as Im not on seals much these days.

You got your krill when you were getting 1000 chips per 5 dollars while im getting 1000 chips at 800 dollars your being way overcompensated at the expense of people krillling now its simple. Sound pretty self entitled to me. You are no better then the dedicated site players krilling for the site now though you sure feel self entitled in getting as much krill for one krill roll as players are getting for all krillrolls combined.
Your dozens of bitcoin in rake were at 5 dollars a bitcoin not the 800 plus it is today. You are being way overcompensated at the expense of players who didn't start when you did and are just as dedicated today as you were when the price of paying dozens of bitcoins in rake was nominal but your reaping todays prices. Give me a break. Any way you slice it site is over rewarding you over the expense of other dedicated players paying way more rake then you did at todays bitcoin prices . The site would get way more benefit from people krilling or raking to reach more krillrolls if they were provided by the site then grandfathering and giving all the money to a lot of players who don't even play anymore but show up for the krill roll and cash out.
While I agree you should be compensated you shouldn't be getting as much in one krillroll almost as players are getting in all the krillrolls combined.

also you should have MTTwhere the pay out goes deep.like top 40%
just have small payoutfor 10%-40%
when a person plays and even if he didnt do good and still got in the money, it makes them feel good and they stick around.
then have micro low MTT rebuys. keep people playing.when i gamble i play the same if i had 1 chip or 200 chips.
remember what they said in new jack city. the first hit is for free......BTCBTC

I have no problem with the 150k freeroll. But as much as I hate to agree with Donk4u, I do think the recent rise has broken the krill system in some way. I haven't done the exact calculations, and its complicated by that square root thing, but I assume I'm paying much more rake in dollar value per krill earned now, compared to just a few months ago. I'm 2000 krill short of 50K, and I used to be able to get that in just a few days play. Now it will take many weeks. And its not so much the freeroll, but moving up in rakeback waves are much harder now. I'd play higher, but not enough games run. Anyway, I do love the site and want to see it grow. I'll stop complaining now.

Love the addition of the 25k krill would like to see a couple of more. 50k to 150k is ridiculous as well as fact that 150k krillers got there for the most part when it was 5 dollars a bitcoin. More money thru rake for the site everyone wins.

I think it's best to say that the krill system is designed to be gamed - we want our players to figure out how to earn the most for the least effort. Then we will change the rules a bit. This is supposed to be a free bonus for having been our customer for a while. It's a totally new system that Freemoney dreamed up a few years ago. I first thought it was horrible and demanded it be scrapped, but then over time I see it's brilliance. Hang with us, after we upgrade our shit, I can promise you I am going to get sick with the krill program. Many ways to earn and reap the rewards. I think the krill-rolls will always be the centerpiece of the system, and I agree they may need balancing as time goes on. We may have huge krill-earning promotions in the future (imagine doubling your krill after winning some month-long promotion) The program is going to continue to stay very interesting.

I think it's worth mentioning that though I hear new players complaining it is not fair that it is harder for them to climb up the krill ladder than the older players. Those old players helped found the site by playing when there were only 20 of us on at peak times. The reward system should likely be always monitored and tweaked as needed, but I don't think it is out of line at all for the old timers to have a bit of honor. BTW Micon, I have taken down two local tournaments while repping seals since your show of kindness. I know some of my area poker buddies are coming now...

I agree old players should be rewarded just not be given half the amount of all the krillrolls. Hopefully something a little more balanced will be rolled out with more krill levels added. I love the seals .

Mikon, can you consider to add/ 20chips 1BTC Guar deep/ on Saturday or Sunday at 4 pm.Run it 4 weeks and see if it catch up,It should help to expand peek hours that day and give players with smaller bankroll some tourney to look for.I don't think it will have much overlay if any,as a matter of fact I am willing to put up 1 BTC to help cover your looses if I am wrong.
Done. Sunday 4pm ET, you better be there. No it isn't .I believe on Seals deep mean 3000 starting chips .I do understand the logic, since the /Saturday 100 chips 5000 guar./ has the same structure, but but that is not what I asked for.On most poker sites 1500 stating chips is used for SNGs or rebuy tourneys. But I take it since 20 chips is $4. Can you now reconsider and make the tourney deep as I originally ask for?I believe it deserve it.
