In case of everyone want to know our schedule for this week.
6/22/2014 Announce Vertlet
Vertlet? Will anything be done to address the issue of multipools dumping VTC anytime soon? What would you have us do about it? Hardfork to block reward 0? As long as it is profitable to mine and dump, they will mine and dump Something similarly compared to KGW, which was supposed to make it less rewarding to mine. Clearly times are different and we need something more strict. VTC's network is too small to have a .5 Gh/s multipool, come out of nowhere, that primarily mines VTC. Already it's dumping 10% of VTC generated. This only gets added to the others dumping from other sources.

The only way to make the multipool insignificant is to have a much higher overall network hashrate. The currently network hashrate is 5837.3831 Mh/s, and 500 Mh/s from Waffle is almost 10%. If we can entice more VTC miners to mine straight into their own wallets, we can dampen the effects of Waffle. Unless, we go down the path of tying hashrate to block rewards a la DRK?

I hate to admit it, but you might be right. Unless something is done, we might lose our community. We need people around to embrace newcomers and help make VTC better. If we have barely anybody left to uphold this, it won't be enticing for any onlookers. I refused the idea before because I did not want to deter new miners. However, we should keep our current miners/investors in good shape.

someone please call the Maza Devs... We need real professionals here. I`m simply speechless. When a Dev asks you "what do you want from us" or "what do you expect us to do" you should really be aware of the upcoming chaos. reading all the stuff here makes me wonder if all those "smart" guys are even holding VTC or are they just some kind of troll police? At least this thread is kept alive. In the last 12hours it has been filled with 5 new pages, thats something new compared to the last couple of weeks. And finally those dev-heads released a schedule, lol? Where have you been earlier? VTC is going down to 0.0005 then being pumped back up to 1USD and then it will go get some rest on the graveyard. So buy now and sell later... but sell forever

Actually, if inflation is such an issue, why not do decreasing block rewards like MON? Instead of an abrupt halving every 4 years, why not do a gradual weekly decrease but following the block halving schedule? That is to say, half every 4 years but start the slow and gradual decrease now.
As for getting the word out, we could announce the gradual decrease a month ahead so that way people who still wants to get into Vertcoin have a month lead time to get in at the full block reward. In fact, this way, it doesn't heavily penalize those late miners as much as out right dropping the reward the 25 VTC/block now.

PoS? Oh no, please. PoS is not secure and I hope will never be added to VTC.

Boris can u give us maybe an idea when you plan to release marketing activities? I would also appreciate a hint or 2 about the activities (ofc reveal not too much ). just try to find the perfect time to buy some more. because of my high energy prices and the temperatures in my office it is not possible to mine vtc atm. to support vtc further i mine x11 and x13 on nicehash ( https://nicehash.com). i don't buy vtc direct with my btc revenue, i buy Scrypt-N hashes on nicehash and let it mine on my vtc pool of trust. maybe an idea for others with high energy and temp. problem like me to support the vtc network while mining something else. if you have better ideas let us miner know! tx and keep on the good work! (as always: pls excuse my english)

PoS? Oh no, please. PoS is not secure and I hope will never be added to VTC. So wrong. It's been prove multiple times that to attack the BTC network, you would need in the neighborhood of 20-100M in hardware to do it. If BTC was POS instead to have a 51% attack you would need 51% of the coins minting and by trying to do so, the BTC would go from 8 Billion to much higher than this so it would cost you a couple Billion to perform such an attack. I'm not saying to change to PoS but a PoW coin would need an incencitive just like DRK has to encourage people to buy back the "share aka the coins" or stop dumping them. Do you really think any investors want to have anything to do with a coin that is losing 20% per month + b/c of dumping ? And with no stable price, the hashrate at some point is going to go down the drain and there goes your secure network.... Have to find a way to stabilize the price AND increase the hashing. That's the only way to keep your investors AND your miners.

There is no need of PoS for vertcoin, too many coins failed with PoS.
